Trip report Disneyland resort 17-20th may 2012

I grew up going to WDW before I could get out of the rented stroller and learned to swim at River Country. I can't count how many trips I've had to WDW in 30 years and I absolutely love the place. I didn't make it to Disneyland until about 10 years ago. I remember how in awe I was that first...

    Cars Land/RSR the real deal

I know there have been many reports over the past week, but in case you needed one more...here it is. I spent 3 days going to DCA experiencing everything and taking in the detail. It it amazing, and I don't even care for the Cars movies. RSR is most definitely what Test Track should be. I think...

    Hypothetical, but fun

We all like saying how we'd do it if we were in charge, but how much would it cost to have that say? How much capital would it take to have a controlling interest in a park? Or how many 0s would it take to parter with Disney to build a new park? What do you think?

Is amateur filming allowed in the parks?

Just saw the OP info...is this THE Frank Stallone? Now the original Godzilla costume makes sense. Norm McDonald would love this one.

Is amateur filming allowed in the parks?

I say just do it. I think there are enough of us here who would help you pull it off...Ocean's 11 meets a flash mob - type thing. Ask forgiveness, not permission!

If you were at WDW right now, what would you be doing?

11:00pm WDW time? Good time for Pirates and Space Mountain. Probably some Red Bull, depending on the extra magic hours.

Would Disney sell the parks for the right price?

You gotta give it to Jimbo, he certainly tries, but anyone who thinks Donald Trump has "enough zeros" isn't qualified for this discussion.

Walt - "Disney World will not be a place that is used to sink your money"

Times haven't changed all that much. Walt had people telling him his business model didn't work all the time, that's why he stood out. There's always been "conventional wisdom", he (and Roy) bucked it until the end. That was his legacy and people forget it all the time.

Sneaky CM's at Toy Story Midway Mania

It's pretty popular at California Adventure, too. I think it's a great ride, very interactive. Am I crazy to think there are many quality rides at MGM (it's really tough to just give in)? We easily make an entire day out of it with riding Toy Story only once.

    Broken light bulb watch

    Now that's funny!

    Most under-rated Disney movie

There isn't anything at the parks, but has anyone noticed they are almost overused in Disney board games? I'm thinking of the Disney versions Scene It, specifically. Not that I mind, these great movies have to get love somewhere.

    Broken light bulb watch

I have to agree. While I love the time I spend with anything Disney-related, and WDW is the crown jewel, poor maintenance really irks me...and no, the parks at WDW have not always had subpar maintenance. You can still find videos of Disney priding itself on having these teams go around at night...

    Disneyland Hotel - Waterfalls gone???

The location isn't really that big of a deal, if that's a deciding factor. I could hit a golf ball from entrance to entrance...and I only play putt putt at Disney World. Grand Californian is closer to the Jamba Juice! Grand Californian has some relaxing outdoor areas that go overlooked...and...

I broke a guys nose at Epcot......

But in February he said his son was 6'2", strange things at the Thick household, I guess. Jimbo went from 290lbs in March then 2 months later he posted he was 315lbs when letting us know he intimidates guests at the park. Bill, Bill Brasky?

What's the most outrageous thing you've ever done at Disney?

Maybe not outrageous, but I did feel like pretty dumb. Haunted Mansion kept stalling for about 5 min at a time...then it stopped for what was about 10 minutes and I started to get claustrophobic and wiggled myself out of the doom buggy (leaving my little sister the only option of following my...

I broke a guys nose at Epcot......

not that cop I did a quick search of this guy's postings (admittedly this only fuels his narcissistic traits, but what can I say? Narcissists intrigue me.) This guy brags about his physique every chance he has and boasts about intimidating others at the happiest place on earth and is upset...

    Most under-rated Disney movie

Great topic and some great movies named already, major props to Flight of the Navigator. A lot of these have been named...and I can't name just one! I like the classic "mash-ups" Saludos Amigos & The Three Caballeros Melody Time & Mike Mine Music Fun and Fancy Free The Adventures of...

    Is Mission Space too much?

I love all the rides you mentioned that you don't go on and have never come close to any discomfort, however, Mission Space made me sick as a dog the only time I've ridden it. It is too much for me, and I love the thrill rides.

    Take it easy, I'm new

I know there must be a better way to do this, but I'm only a few minutes into my wdwmagic life... I'm visiting next week, how do I find out what attractions will be closed?
