Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens 2025

They've already got busses running between Endless Summer and the main property. I assume the drop-off is at CityWalk.

Rumor New ride coming to Animal Kingdom. D23 announcement expected.

At their big corporate pow-wow that only happens every other year? I expect them to announce everything. I'm honestly going to be very surprised if they don't announce a big addition to all four parks, even beyond what we already know is coming.

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

Weirdly, that actually makes the forced perspective better, because they appear to pass in front of the Eiffel Tower. Or am I just crazy? I like the kinetic energy it adds, which is something World Showcase lacks, but the bright primary colors are kind of shocking when they're drifting past...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens 2025

From CityWalk to roughly the location of the land, I'm eyeballing it at about 5 miles. Same ballpark as the Contemporary to Epcot, but you also have to leave the main property and cross under (over?) a major interstate. It does make the location of Endless Summer more appealing, though...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens 2025

I don't know where either Busch Gardens would fall on that continuum (I would personally put it closer to Orlando), but they have cohesive themes and only small Sesame Street areas.

    Ticketing/Entry System Crash

This entire episode has reminded me of a Root Cause Analysis at a Morbidity and Mortality conference.

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens 2025

Me three. I mean, I have no doubt they'll skew towards the depictions they've historically used for those characters (unless they do another half-baked attempt at a shared universe and go off of that), but that's still more of a "theme" and less of an "IP." For the record, I don't really...

Liberty Square Market Seating Area Demolished

I like the original articles clickbait-y use of "demolished." As if to suggest they came in and either imploded it or smashed it with a wrecking ball while Chapek danced gleefully in the foreground.

Couldn't have had that thick of a veil. Haven't they been clearing the land for months now? I hope so. Competition benefits everyone.

    Magic Kingdom 50th Anniversary Plans

Mulan vastly underperformed in Asia relative to a lot of the other Disney Renaissance films. Hua Mulan is a beloved folk hero in China, and audiences there did not take kindly to the ways in which Disney cute-d up the story. With the Chinese market so important, they've remade the story a bit...

Universal Epic Universe (South Expansion Complex) - Opens 2025

I may wait until after D23 before I make the final decision about this, but I'm more excited by the possibilities of this than anything Disney is working on at the moment, save for Galaxy's Edge. The possibility of a Dark Universe world is particularly appealing. A horror-themed land...

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner -

Are the ones going into the Epcot station visible if you're standing in France or across the lagoon? That would really break the forced perspective of the Eiffel Tower.

News Primeval Whirl at Disney's Animal Kingdom experiencing extended downtime

Would anyone object to a water ride in the vein of Splash Mountain, whatever the ultimate theming? I know Kali River Rapids and all, but I loathe getting that wet.

Is Disney starting to lose that genuine quality for you?

In fairness, I might go more frequently if finances allowed. As it stands, I have $X to spend on travel and Y number of days in which to do it. I think I fit into the "every three years" sweet spot that the company seems to go after. But like I said, I find both the Imagineering (I have more...

HS never to be the same?

I'm fine with whatever they want to do, so long as they keep the retro-LA style of the front of the park. The part of me that loves Deco (even if it's faux) would be brokenhearted, and I just don't see the Chinese Theater or Tower of Terror working if they weren't the focal points of that kind...

News Primeval Whirl at Disney's Animal Kingdom experiencing extended downtime

My intention was not to debate the merits of Zootopia fitting (or not) into Animal Kingdom. Although I suppose had the Good Dinosaur been successful, we'd likely be having a different conversation.
