Well said. Disneyland is definitely one of the key spots but unlike Orlando it really doesn't define the area. I'm hard pressed to pick a favorite. I usually side with where I grew up but I love the WDW experience.

I'm thinking I'm going to have to bug a friend to sign me in while I'm visiting Orange County this week. Don't tell my wife.

The Disneyland Hotel is very special to a lot of people. It's the preferred hotel for celebrity guests believe it or not. Unfortunately there is no longer Monorail service directly to the hotel but it is a relatively short walk to the station at Downtown Disney.

Don't forget the sporting event and theater/concert options. Not counting those in San Diego there are still several stadiums and a few arenas for your sporting needs. If you want to catch a concert you have The Hollywood Bowl and Pantages Theater not to mention the countless small clubs on the...
