I know of 2 people in the same situation. One was in her eighties, and one in his 50's. They still took precautions and still came down with covid. And look at the UConn Women's basketball coach - Geno Auriemma. He was fully vaccinated and came down with covid at the beginning of the NCAA women's sweet 16. Missed 2 games due to quarantine.
There have been 4 local stories in my area of various people who have had the 2 doses and caught covid after, 1 of them actually passed away.
It can happen people. Stay safe.

Anything can happen, but people need to assess risks in order to navigate life. In the CDC study, 74 individuals out of the 75 million fully vaccinated died, and 9 of those deaths “were reported as asymptomatic or the patient died due to a cause not related to COVID-19.” You can check this information on the CDC website.

Individuals have different risk tolerances, but society as a whole is moving away from mitigation measures now that people are getting vaccinated. I don’t expect people will support those measures after the vaccines are widely available.

Also think about the 3% of your country that still views this as a hoax and will not get vaccinated.
Semantics about stats.....it IS possible to get anc infected others
We are all in this for the long haul.
2023 IF we are lucky.
You really need to shut off the news and get out of the echo chamber. There is zero chance we are doing this in 2023. Zero

I'm not sure why he picked 2023 as how long this goes, but one thing for sure is that as long as tyranny is tolerated and even in some cases applauded, it will continue. The bully who gets the lunch money from the kid everyday normally doesn't stop just because. He'll keep going if he gets the lunch money every day. Catch my drift?

So if people don't start clearing their own minds, then yes, we'll be doing this in 2023. Get rid of fear, because you can't have a pandemic like the one that has been run without fear.

I have no idea how long it lasts, but I know for sure that a year ago when we had a trip to the States set aside for the fall we were 100% sure that there is "no way people will still put up with this by September, right?" Well, that was in the spring of 2020 I said that in regards to the fall of 2020. Hmmmm.

One item of note, some of the opinions regarding this topic are so outrageous and heartless it is amazing that some can put up with this.

It is fact.....you can still get covid after being vaccinated.
This has happened to 4 people in my province already this month.
And guess what....they CAN infect others.
I never said you couldn't. But I ask again. When did the goal become total eradication? Did you really think we were getting to zero?
Mitigation measures won't last without public support, and no one will support them until 2023.
This is what it will take for the mitigation measures to end. People are still supportive (as am I) but we're getting close to the point where a mass rejection of mitigation measures will happen. Lots of areas already have many vaccine appointments going unused. Once that happens across the country and everyone who wants a vaccine has one, I believe people will move on. And once the public as a group is done with it, it won't matter what the rules are. The rules will then have to be adjusted to save face.

I've seen that happen in my state. The governor "re-closed" indoor dining, many restaurants did not close and the ones that did rightly complained. A very short time later, the rules were changed to allow indoor dining. Then, of course, there was a spike because people were indoors and in close proximity to others for a significant length of time. This was at a time when only healthcare and nursing home residents were eligible for the vaccine. I expect there will be even less appetite for restrictions now that everyone can get vaccinated.

Not eradication but time. It takes time.
We all effect each other in this.
Look at India 2 months ago, now look at it now.

If you equate tyrany with keeping your citizens safe......... we simply can't have a discussion.
Mobs of people can never make the right choice when given full reign to choose what to do. Just look at history.

The answer is: “when it’s time”

and that about does it
You got it........
I just tried to come up with the most conservative date.
But really. No one knows.
Governments are watching around the goibe what is happening.
You know the air planes that can bring droves of people to your soil.
Global pandemic people. Global
A lif of places are doing very poorly with covid.
My province, Ontario is one of them.
Look at our yearly stats, very low for a long long time.
Anything can happen, vaccine or not.
A whole new variant can come out rendering the current vaccine very ineffective.

Its not over. This is a long haul pandemic.
Thanks for nothing airplanes

Say what you want, but without fear there is no pandemic. Some of us do our best to live our lives normally and have vastly different experiences than you do. For example the people who say "I haven't seen my parents in a year" are insane. Just go visit for crying out loud, we've never stopped our kids from seeing their grandparents.

Good for you......
I know 3 people who did see their parents in my community and now they are dead. They were were not showing signs of covid at gave it to them. Both husband and wife were lost in 3 different families.
We use lockdowns for a reason. To prevent senseless deaths.
We can wait for everyone else to figure out how to properly behave and act in a pandemic.
It is attitudes like this, that are keeping the pandemic growing and spreading.
It is quite sad.

I think technology played a huge role in this too. Personally if Covid happened in 1995 I don’t think there would be masks or lockdowns. Our access to everything happening in the world and more importantly everyone’s reaction to that has created a culture that tends to act on extremes. See the Flu pandemic of 1968 for reference. Killed more folks than Covid but no reaction from government or people. They just didn’t know.

I think the only way they get rid of masks this year is if they required vaccines to enter the parks. But I can't see them stifling their revenue stream that hard so I think earliest is next year.
Don’t you think the mask requirements keep people away too though? I know we are waiting til next year for that reason. I wonder what would be the bigger deterrent for new bookings. Required vaccinated or masks. I have no answer, just an interesting thought.

I think both play into deterring people from going. There are those who will never get vaccinated, and those who won't go because of the mask requirement. We waited until we were fully vaccinated (cancelled 4x) and are going on Saturday. We have been wearing masks throughout the pandemic, and will survive with them at Disney. Not stopping us from going.

I don't equate tyranny with keeping citizens safe. But I do equate tyranny with keeping citizens risk free. See? It's complicated, full of many shades of grey.

Regardless, cases are plummeting here in the US and in specifically in my area.

Our young adult kids didn't see my parents for the past year. But it was a gamble whether they did or didn't. We're lucky they're still around to see now. I'm just happy they're able to embrace life for a bit now that they're vaccinated. They ate out and went to church in the past couple weeks for the first time in a year.

Oh I don’t get on people who want to wear a mask. I’m just not spending that kind of money to do so. Rather take the kids to the beach or jungle and keep them out of a mask for vacation.

Of course they do. They've kept me away. There's a group who won't go with mask requirements. And there's a group that won't go without them. I don't envy Disney the task of figuring out when it's time to shift in the other direction. At least the state of FL gives them great leeway to decide what's best for their customers and their bottom line.
