There seems like there was a change in the feel of this ordeal late today. The growing confidence and reporting that chloroquine is cv19 killer and the much improved coordination of federal and state government, and finally the increase in discussion about opening things up. There are still major hurdles but I just get the feeling that the outlook has shifted more towards getting back to normal.

I hope you’re right.

I've been trying some media "social distancing" this evening to try and not think about this 24/7. Where were discussions about opening things back up/anything positive?

I haven't seen anything about opening things back up, but there are some antivirals that are being looks at that show promise with treating COVOD-19. If you're willing to wait about 30 minutes I could link you the sources.

I think so... but I don’t know. I was just reading about shanghai making that rule as they reopen Disney and I also read a report that South Korea mailed every resident a mask and said they were required to wear them in Public.
Well, since in theory it doesn't prevent well people fro,m getting the virus but stops people who are infected from spreading and everyone has to wear one... it works :)

I was thinking about taking a day off from any news or information. Not much good news to hear. I imagine this must be hard for people with drug or alcohol addiction. So much anxiety and can’t find an AA meeting since everyone‘s hiding out at home.

He needs to be criminally charged and fined up the bazooka.

ETA: Don't these morons realize there are free, safe ways to do these sorts of gatherings online?!?
I say put a port a potty there, some way to deliver food and lock em all in there. After all, the minister says he's cured 1,100 of AIDS. This should be a piece of cake for him :D

So if it works... it should be encouraged here correct?

- I know it apparently can’t be due to the shortage. Which is a different problem altogether.

Sure, if we mandated it as a law, and everyone did it. Just like they are all obeying social distancing. Oh wait.....

It looks like one of the antivirals was found to not be effective, but another still shows promise.

Even current modeling shows a potelohighwr number than that. While it doesn’t say 60-80% it says the number of Americans and knowing the population we can do math. 60-80% is also the expected rate in most other countries at this point if the shutdowns continue not to be taken seriously.

20% of those do need medical intervention.

But I appreciate how this has aged in believing it’s all made up as our numbers here are doubling...

did you even read the article YOU linked?

those numbers are “if nothing is done to slow the spread”. Which already isn’t the case, and likely more will be done than now.

It’s fear mongering for clicks. And it got yours. And mine, I suppose.

post 6802 in this thread, From earlier today, cites specialists from today saying they assume 50%, 20 hospitalized, and 3% mortality. Over the life of the whole thing. And that’s a ASSUMPTION. They have no idea. It’s all projections. Give me 10 minutes and I could find you a dozen more articles with a dozen other numbers. this could all change (and not only for the worse) hour by hour.
But you know the articles that are the most worthless to read and quote? The ones with a doomsday goal of what will happen if absolutely nothing is done. Because that train has already left the station.

and of course the numbers are exploding. Everyone knew that would happen. Our federal government reacted close to as bad as possible, and we weren’t testing anyone. We barely are now. And those tests are largely for those they expect to test positive. nothing happening now hasn’t been expected for weeks. Since we knew this was gonna be a problem.
