Christmas disappointment ....

I find it inappropriate to introduce straws around here since Disney is moving towards no straws; but yet here you are building one of the biggest strawman...

(the thread creater never claimed what you are refuting.........if you are going to disagree can you at least wait for something that was actually said first)

Perhaps the OP needs to clarify their
true meaning of Christmas
, if not the Biblical narrative.

Besides all the points already made does the OP realize how many people are severely allergic to real Christmas trees. I'm sure Disney does not want to deal with thousands of angry customers who ended up spending their vacation in the ER due to real trees everywhere making them sick.

I am shocked by all the things that are being said on this thread. What’s next? Are you going to tell me that there is no such thing as the Tooth Fairy or Easter Bunny? I am going to need some serious therapy now - all of my happy Disney thoughts have been crushed. 😳

potatoes/ potahtoes. i find "no real christmas trees" in florida just as, I'll say interesting.

Just me, but I do agree that I should play nice. I don't want to be a bully.

Maybe we can decorate some Palm trees
Next time you go to Disney open your eyes outside the parks and you'll see a lot of pine trees growing wild. Stay at the cabins at Fort Wilderness and you'll have pine trees all over the place. Not sure how people are coming up with this pine trees don't grow in Florida nonsense.

They're not "christmas tree" pine trees, though... besides, most of them are so tall you can't see the needles unless you're looking at the sky.

Agree, most of what we consider to be Christmas Trees are Balsam Fir which is a part of the pine family, but, not the kind that customarily grow in random places. I think one finds them mostly in northern, cooler climates.

I will say, growing up in coastal North Carolina, summers are way hotter up there than down here in Orlando. The humidity is about 100 times worse than anything I've ever experience here.

That’s the low country of South Carolina and it’s awful...

But it’s not 80 or above 320 or more days a year...

You can bank that in O-town

Most of the good Xmas trees are the northern us/southern Canadian varieties.

I grew up around a lot of tree farms with Fraser’s, balsams and spruces...

And my favorite...the difficult silky soft white pine. Amazing evergreens...they really all are.

As far as Florida goes...there’s a reason why they have palmetto trees with lights wrapped around them...there’s a reason why fire ants are everywhere and gators can eat your cat...

And there’s a reason the seminoles run casinos for foggies instead of cutting trees in the Catskills like the last of the Mohicans.

Exactly, if Disney or you tried a live tree it would not do well by Christmas
In the past Disney used real trees, I believe they came from the northwest. They would also add extra branches to fill in the areas that were sparse. The trees would go up around Thanksgiving time and stayed up through the Christmas-New Year's holidays (back then, Christmas season didn't start until the day after Thanksgiving. They kept them watered and they held up well.

we all know that Disney can " do anything." and so three years ago when I was there for Christmas, I was shocked and disappointed not to find and " LIVE or REAL Christmas trees.. ' it was all fake and plastic and not very Disney.. if they can have a real tree in Rockerfeller square in New York, they can have live trees in Disney world. for one ..because they can KEEP THEM IN DIRT and keep them alive the whole time in the park.. Yes.. Disney is capable of doing this.. it was too fake and Christmas was more of a theory and snowflakes and hot chocolate and winter thyme as opposed to the true meaning of Christmas.. Yes the Candlelight processional was on point.. but that was it for all the parks.. and if you didn't see that .. it was plastic and fluff.. JOMHO.. I assume that the ripping will start within seconds.. Merry Christmas..

You are aware that almost everything in WDW is fake???

They aren't shaped like Christmas trees because they are wild trees. If you want the classic Christmas tree shape you have to prune them when they are younger and harvest them at about 3 or 4 years of age. But you have Christmas tree farms near Disney which pretty much proves you can grow the classic shaped trees if that is what you want. Look up Santa's Christmas Tree Forest in Eustis or Ergle Christmas Tree Farm in Dade City... I doubt these farms could exist if it weren't possible to grow a proper looking Christmas tree in Florida.
