Just found what seems to be early concept arts for the lake show by Anthony Archer!

He also worked on Paint the Night and the early concept for Disney Dreams for which Disney already had projections on Main Street in mind:

i do too. DLP doesnt have a SM so i wouldnt even be surprised if this was a copy of it

There have been zero hints that this has any similarities to Splash Mountain other than it has a drop in a rock facade. The show building is a completely different shape and size.

I don't know why but I assumed it was going to be installed in one piece.
