  • Been in a similar situation of being extremely busy for a Summer. Interestingly it's all been Disney but sadly nothing terribly exciting or secret.

Being a Tea drinker I've been spared the Nescafe curse at Disney. I was thinking the old Swan Boat Landing could be enclosed and some patio area built that would make a really nice Coffee Cafe maybe with treats like cakes, donuts or breakfast sandwiches in the morning, etc. and first class views.
Sorry for not having gotten back to you sooner. Things have been crazy on my side of things, and I've gotten extremely far behind on emails.

I've heard that WDW coffee is pretty atrocious, so I'd love to see a Starbucks in WDW. But imagine how expensive that'd be...Starbucks prices plus the WDW premium!

Word on the street is that there's a bunch of Adventureland effects and such returning. What would make me most happy is the Carpets leaving...then the Tiki Room reflecting pool could be expanded to its original contours and the shops would re-open.
Have you ever had messages you made, not post? Back in June I posted a response to your June 24th note, on June 24th! This is has happened a number of times and is really annoying as I spent a bunch of time writing it. (Calm down - breathe deeply, happy place, happy place...)

Odyssey - Excellent idea! I'd like a Panera Bread/Starbucks, atmosphere and menu, please.

The area between Animation Courtyard and Pixar Place would be a great Toon Town location and transition between both. Definitely a FAB 5 ride.
Sorry this has taken me so long to reply to. Things have finally gotten back to normal in my parts.

Odyssey is opening up as a wifi spot and eating location during Food and Wine fest this year...though I hope it lasts a bit longer than that.

The way I heard it, the rest of SS1 is being used as the queue for the Monsters Inc. coaster. Things backstage will shift around a bit more to allow for the actual show building to be built. I'd love to see a new (real) Toontown built next to the Animation Courtyard, though. Maybe it could have that Mickey Mouse dark ride/e-ticket they were talking about, and even cooler, maybe a trolley ride.

By the way, the rooftop cannons on Pirates of the Caribbean might be fixed this week. I'll keep you posted if I hear any more.
Well..They were working 1999 when I worked there.

Utilizing the tunnel space would give another dimension of "how do they fit so much in that space" moving Cranium Command or an expanded One Mans Dream would work really well. A TS in Future World would have to have some sort of "hook", a view or something special about it. I wish Odyssey Restaurant could be re-done into a dinner theater, an exhibit hall something useful.

One Mans Dream occupies the viewing hallway from the original Backstage Tour. On the other side of the left wall is Broadcast Video Production. This building is the middle of the park right behind the Chinese Theater and generates no revenue or provides significant numbers in ride capacity. Expanding through this building is 5-6 acres of prime park expansion land in the middle of the park. Ideally a new Toon Town.
Do you know when the Italy fountains were shut off? I actually made a blog to document WDW water features over the years...I haven't fooled around with it yet, but you can find it here: http://wdwwaterfeatures.blogspot.com/

I wonder if they ever fixed the Morocco water wheel contraption. It was broken when I was there last August, and I hope it's fixed this August when I head back down again.

Innoventions seems empty most of the time, anyway. I'd love to see a TS restaurant in there somewhere. It seems like such a sad waste of space, but the tunnel would be quite convenient for museum purposes.

I hadn't heard that One Man's Dream was earmarked for expansion. I thought that any Pixar Place expansion would occur on the other side of the "bridge".

New refreshed monorail? I like the sound of that!

It's a shame about the Italy fountains. My old stomping grounds, I had an office near there. I seems to be SOP at WDW to just shut off any fountain that's too much trouble to fix.

I always thought there would be space in one of the Innoventions buildings. It could be on two floors and even a 3rd level if they utilize the tunnel space underneath. Since museums tend to attract adults more than teens, maybe Epcot would be logical. The One Mans Dream is a temporary space until needed for Pixar Place expansion (pray for new Toon Town). The Main Street Theater isn't likely to boot Mickey and friends any time soon, either.

The avatar thing just bugs me. The graphics I get are of a random nature.

Waiting for the new refreshed Monorail and the Tractor siding on the Epcot line.
Happy Memorial Day to you as well!

^A thread I made about missing EPCOT Italy water features.

I might have a handful of before and after pictures. We're planning on going to DL next year, and I took over 1,000 photos on my last two day trip, so I'm interested in seeing what possibilities.

DLR already has a lot of exhibit space for history, but I'm sure they could always use more. I like that idea, I just wish WDW would have some as well (besides One Man's Dream). The EPCOT 25th gallery was truly awesome, even for someone like me who didn't visit before 2000.

Sorry to hear about your stolen avatars...that is really cool how you got them from inside Disney, though. Have they Tron-a-tized any other characters?

I hope to see you around the board more...despite the plenitude of irrelevant posts, yours were very informative and insightful.
I've been so impressed by the improvements to California Adventure. I hope someone does a nice Before and After pictures of the improvements.

Carthay Circle Theater should be really nice, I am curious if the 2nd floor will be exclusive member dining like club 33. I hope not, even though LA could support that type of restaurant. It should be a great parade viewing location. I'm also wondering if it's designed to be expanded for the Disney museum in the original plans. Hmm.
I was a little disappointed they couldn't move the little themed DVC booth as it did have compatible theming.

FLE - Looks like they started the Castle wall!

I crop, trim and adjust all my avatars in Photoshop, this makes it easy for me to spot my avatars. Buzztron and Claymation Sunburst Mickey have shown up on Mice Chat. My BuzzTron originally was a huge file from a friend at Disney. All my avatars are from Disney files, frame grabs directly from Disney broadcast tapes or risque princess art by Scott Campbell.

I haven't changed my avatars or posted much mainly due to "dunderhead" posters which I lack any kind of patience for. Therefore I only comment on my interests - Monorails, Trains, Rides and Parks - if it's a valid post and not negative speculation or rehash of some subject for the 400th time.

    Have a great Memorial Day!
This is making me wonder what the Carthay Circle Theater restaurant at DCA will be like. It'd seem like the same kind of deal (two level, in-park sit-down dining near park entrance).

What other avatars have you used besides the Timon one and your current one? I personally haven't seen my avatar copied, though usually it's because they are obscure pop culture references or something.
I think a reservation only restaurant/bar on an exclusive 2nd floor plus Hub/Castle view would be great. A private club like 33 wouldn't work in Florida with the smaller permanent population. (I also think it's a bit unfair)

I've used actors in various presentations but never made the mental connection of who played what and where. Always a bit focused on the job at hand and the deadline.

AC coming back? Keep praying, although I've become attached to my Veranda Adventurers Club 2.0 and exclusive restaurant design.

Other thoughts: Have you ever had other WDWMagic Posters copy your avatar? It really bugs me, so far two people are using two different ones I have.
I have a map of the PI Utilidors...I'll see if I can dig it up for you. I'm glad to see that some vestige of WED-era planning made it!

I'd love for WDW to have some sort of elite-Club33-esque restaurant, but I guess I should keep on dreaming. Somewhere in prime location in Adventureland would be great, specifically the Veranda.

You're very lucky to have gone to the Club and go behind the scenes. Have you met any of the actors?

Lately there have been some whispers of the Adventurer's Club coming back in some form or fashion. I wonder what's up with that.
The Adventurers Club exterior fit the old PI area which was a warehouse district look (cheap) While I only went as a guest twice, I really enjoyed it. Besides the upper lobby entrance which looked cool, the lower Rotunda is the most photographed. There were various EFX like Bar Stools that when up and down, a floating genie, talking masks etc. Sort of part Addams family. The main show room had a library look with pipe organ which crashed through the balcony floor into the stage and is played occasionally by a ghost. Of course the best park was the actors which made a difference. My "show" details are a bit fuzzy having limited viewing and probably too many beers. On other non-show days I have done lots of exploring behind the "walls" which excess the EFX.
What most people don't know is the highest point at PI, which used to have AC, the Comedy Club, the Main Stage & The Neon Armadillo are connected to a tunnel area (really ground level under the walkway) You can walk in at the delivery area into locker rooms, offices various other things directly into those clubs. Very cool.

Putting the AC into the Veranda, expanding upward and adding all and more "antiquities" would make it the must see show at the MK. I would bet it would need to become a same day reservations "fast pass" for the show and advanced reservations for a 2nd floor (Club 33 quality) restaurant.
For some reaosn, the Adventurers Club always looked a bit plain to me. I wonder what it would look like if it was built in the park (besides the MK in the Veranda). I so regret not going to Pleasure Island earlier. I've heard so many great things about the Club. Do you have any especially great memories from there?

Thanks for the DACS info. Do you have any information on what music plays at the GF as far as playlists go?
    On a different note:
I was reading the BGM CD player labels the other day and noticed that some Grand Floridian and Polynesian Resort sound tracks do originate in DACS. 32 soundtracks originate there.
The Adventurer's club seems like a natural. FYI: DLP MK used to have restaurant by the same name in Adventureland.
    Pleasure Island Outside:

Rotunda - Mega-themeing (In the ADL Veranda 1st Fl would be show, 2nd is semi-private club over looking the MK hub and Castle...cool)

If you did a stereo soundtrack like you said it would only have that stereo effect if you stood along the trolley tracks. If you moved closer to either sidewalk the nearest side would dominate and the effect would be lost.

The Parade tech would love anything new, from scratch and not a remake or DL hand-me-down. No word on Spectro.
I've never been to the Adventurer's Club but it sounds like a blast. I'd love to see it resurrected in the MK- it'd be a great utiliztion of the space (with awesome views) and it'd make some money during its existence.

It'd be cool if the park BGMs were in joint stereo, for example, each side of MSUSA playing a different mono track. But the word on the street is that they may be scoring a new loop for Main Street anyway.

The amount of tech they have for a parade/firework is astounding. I'm not one that watches parades (except nighttime ones) but it's still fascinating to see everything in coordination. Have you heard anything of Spectro returning?
