Will Must Do Disney return? :(

Must Do Disney (Stacy) is gone permanently and replaced by Can't Miss Disney. Holding my opinion because some things just take time to adjust to something new.

    Rumor New Monorails Coming Soon?

The drive wheels/motor on the Mark VI/Innovia 200 (Las Vegas) are fixed to the Chassis as a single tire and side mounted motor. This transmits a rougher ride to the passengers and tends to rock on sharper turns. The Innovia 300 uses a swiveling "truck" and two smaller drive wheels with a wheel...

Best route from Disney to Universal

Helicopter - Seriously, I-4 is a horror but you should be able to get there in less than an hour. A local might take Apopka-Vineland Rd-(Left, Northbound) out of Lake Buena Vista to Sand Lake Rd-(Right, Eastbound) to Turkey Lake Rd-(Left, Northbound) and right on Hollywood Way into Universal...

    Must Do Disney 2018

Absolutly, time for something fresh. It's time, Must Do was becoming "This Is Your Life Stacey". Typhoon Lagoon section Stacy was 20 something, later staged intros she looks like a Mom, pretty soon she will be seen with grandkids. Also a much longer show about everything to do. Everyone has a...

    Rumor New Monorails Coming Soon?

"Bigart, post: 8167994, member: 14496"]We shall have to wait and see if the limited report has any basis in fact, and of course it could be possible. If true, I do not believe however that the 300's will be the chassis used, but rather a modified version of the 200 series." Bombardier is one of...

    Wow! Monorail Orange.

A big door will take longer to close than two smaller doors. The speed is the same because of research about hands and other stuff getting caught and delaying the train or worse someone gets injured. That'ss why on door closes before the other partly as a warning. Your better using dark tinted...

    Wow! Monorail Orange.

I think taking the latest version of Innovia 200 and customize the nose, make the automatic doors flush, have a cool interior with LED lighting and custom paint job and you have a new Monorail. My only advice for Disney is draw your pretty pictures for aesthetics and listen to Bombardier about...

    Wow! Monorail Orange.

It's all about if they want to or not. "Bean counters" will try to quantify if it's a good idea and then say something stupid like we could buy 500 more buses. I'm pretty sure no one is setting up little toy buses to circle the xmas tree. It's about the Magic and since very few cities have...

    Wow! Monorail Orange.

WDW track is 26" (66 mm) wide while Innvoia 300 uses 27.2" (27.2 mm) - just about an inch wider.

    Wow! Monorail Orange.

The cabs on Mark I to VII are treated like add-ons. They do not have continuous chassis structure to the nose, hence the deadly accident. You can bet it will whenever they get new trains.

    Wow! Monorail Orange.

The coupling has to work even in a turn or curved section, which means the further you deviate from the center the longer your coupling will have to reach out. It might be easier to find a new or different way the open the front. The French High Speed TGV trains have a long nose which splits...

    Wow! Monorail Orange.

Knowing what yard-apes some Disney customers have, I would put some safety glass between the nose and the cabin. Still get that superview even if they never let guest in the nose again. Yup no walk-thru on that scale train. Here's how the bumper and coupler are arranged on the Innovia 300...

    Wow! Monorail Orange.

Remember I said it would have to be redesigned for a Innovia 200/MarkVI type train and a new chassis to hold it. The track width is actually only 1" narrower. The cars are about 18" narrower.

    Wow! Monorail Orange.

Removing the bench is an easy upgrade that could have been included in the recent paint job and maintenance. It would help so much with people flow to fill and unload each car. Love the fresh paint job on Orange. As commented in you other post about design. The look thru front of the Innovia...

    Wow! Monorail Orange.

Break out the coffee beans! Many people in the US think monorails are just slow pokey attractions in theme parks. I try to show examples of real full size monorails in other countries as examples of what can be done. I grew up loving the Mark IV and Mark VI trains and have driven the Mark IV...

    Wow! Monorail Orange.

Geez nace88 - I'm just saying WDW should have a car wash "similar" to this one. No one would buy a car washer that wouldn't work for their trains. I thought "seeing" one in action would imply that other places with monorails wash their trains with a machine so maybe Disney should too.

    Wow! Monorail Orange.

WDW needs a train wash like this one in Brazil for this Bombardier 300 monorail - a distant Mark VI cousin.

    Let's Talk Monorails...

    1. My Mark VIII / Innovia 200 is an existing Bombardier design in the WDW/Vegas class size. With that, the chassis limits you to no walk-thru and you have to have a nose cabin just to look right. FYI: The Vegas cabin happens to be filled with gear and industrial looking control panel. 2. My...
