I'm probably one of the very few, but I thought Stich was actually quite good for what it was--a redo built on the bones of an earlier ride. I could well be wrong, but given its location, I think many people walked by it without realizing it was there.

I remember once reading Stephen Jay Gould writing that up to some point you couldn't get tenure in a geology department if you believed continental drift theory was correct and then a few years later you coudn't get tenure if you didn't believe it was correct.

You could argue that they need a nice place to have lunch on the Boardwalk ... but I'm not sure what the demand will be even if the prices were more reasonable. The survival of the Speedway continues to amaze me. Seems like an awful lot of space devoted to a very weak ride. I guess maybe it has its fans among families with pre-teens.
