Nothing says success like a government in a free market business.
I'm always amused when I see that people think the global economy is a free market.

Wow, congratulations, you managed to make it sound like a door flies open about every two seconds instead of once in 30 years and that they are all down (some are down for the maintenance that so many say doesn't happen) or trashed (I don't know of any that have been trashed) and that in order to use the mono rail one has to walk on the top of the rail itself from TTC to MK or Epcot and that it is constant. I don't mind the fact that after 30 years it is probably time to upgrade to new equipment, maybe replace it one train at a time, but, gloom and disaster spouting only hurts the chances of that happening.
I may be wrong but I think the Tokyo monorails would be too big for WDW.I wish they would just use the Tokyo model for the monorails.
We were discussing ONE particular door incident, not that fact that mechanical things can break down. My years in life have taught me that machinery that is not used constantly will tend to break down faster, especially if they are relying on electricity for power. All types of contacts can over time corrode and lose conductivity and what we are seeing right now for a large part of the fleet has been practically idle for about a year. It will take time for all the things to start working well again. Even after that there will occasionally breakdowns and there is no magic trick to prevent that from happening. I know that some like to think that because WDW is a fantasy kingdom that all the influences of the actual world will not get past the main gate. If you are one of those, you simply are wrong. And my statement has aged just fine, thank you.well, this post didn’t age well at all. Greetings from 2021, where monorail trains are breaking down on an almost-daily basis!![]()
Apparently, “soon” was on the timescale of continental drift.
Bob Chapek is temporary…We just have to frame any mention of “soon” in Disney timelines. Like when they say something is “temporary”.![]()
Bob Chapek is temporary…
Eisner was legitimately good for awhile. Chappie has always been terrible in the company. We can only hope. And hope that “temporary” truly is, in his case. Although it’s another case of “be careful what you wish for”. The next CEO could make the last two look like intelligent theme park people. Kind of like how the Bob’s make Eisner seem pretty good by comparison.
So true. His first decade was a home run. The post-Wells, post-heart attack decade was more… uneven. $lappie is just bad. Nothing redeeming about his time at Disney at all.Eisner was legitimately good for awhile. Chappie has always been terrible in the company.
God no. Those things are ugly and not of the original WDW style. Please no to the Tokyo Monorails.I wish they would just use the Tokyo model for the monorails.
Agreed. The Tokyo monorail looks incredibly dinky, and the interior is appointed as if it were a toy. The profile of the WDW monorail still looks vastly more futuristic. I hope that part of it never changes. It’s always looked so perfect circling Future World.God no. Those things are ugly and not of the original WDW style. Please no to the Tokyo Monorails.
