Teachers will do it in Chicago. Find it hard to see CPD all getting vaccinated though. Those guys were barely wearing masks in 2020.
…just Florida.May I ask if you live in an area with a low vaccination rate? People I personally know and love are being put at real risk because of the mentality you discuss. Do I think we can have national vaccine mandate? No. And really, 6 months ago I was naive enough to believe we would get to 80% quickly once the vaccine was widely available. That hasn’t happened. There are quite literally ZERO icu beds left in my state. For any illness, injury, surgery, etc. None. So what do you propose we do since getting a shot for the greater good isn’t on the table? This is an actual crisis and as much as I hear people fear losing freedoms - i have yet to hear a freaking alternative that is realistic in this situation. Kids are getting sick here because the adults chose freedom. My physician friends are literally begging people to help and they won’t. So rather than debate the constitutional and political ideologies WHAT SHOULD WE DO?
I agree largely with your commentary but this isn’t a joke. I can’t up and move my family and we are essentially at the mercy of the “my freedoms” people. As a parent it is hard not to just cry and hope they come…just Florida.
always “leading”….backwards
I did my time there…sarcasm aside I do understand the difficulty when a public is so easily distracted from what their self interests are…it’s scream out loud frustratingI agree largely with your commentary but this isn’t a joke. Plenty of openings at StarbucksTeachers will do it in Chicago. Find it hard to see CPD all getting vaccinated though. Those guys were barely wearing masks in 2020.
We will simply have a lot of dead family members of adults and the adults themselves who refuse the vaccination and pass that "rule of law" of "freedom" within the family to their kids, and unfortunately to other people who will be innocent along the way, as in without choice. It's a pandemic with variants growing more contagious and deadly. It's gonna be tough.May I ask if you live in an area with a low vaccination rate? Right there with you. I still believe for every stubborn holdout there are parents out there committed to doing the right thing and teaching their kids to do the same. Even here, even now. I'm really hoping the FDA approval will be very soon and that those who were holding off waiting for that do not hesitate in the slightest to get vaccinated. I hope they call out sick if they need to. If the excuse is they can't afford to call out sick, that means their life is not worth a days pay. Harsh, but this is serious.Right there with you. They will get paid, and the government will reimburse their employer.I'm really hoping the FDA approval will be very soon and that those who were holding off waiting for that do not hesitate in the slightest to get vaccinated. There are a lot of jerk employers out there who make it difficult for their employees, independent of the laws. I am pretty sure there are "freedom loving" bosses in tiny companies who would fire their employees for "other reasons not related to your vaccination day off" if they found out. For many, good luck fighting that. Many don't have the time or money to deal with it. A quiet sick day or two if necessary will do the job on the QT. It's unfortunate that some need to do so, but that is reality for some. They will get paid, and the government will reimburse their employer.
I'm optimistic.I think that’s a big red herring argument being pushed
“Waiting for approval”
if you look at the scatter plots…how many in the red (zones…not states) would have any clue what “full fda approval” means…how to find it…or what “fda” stands for???
…if we’re honest.
that’s a pundit float point for about the last month
That may be graduation rates, and yet there’s still a massive nationwide teacher shortage. Because they don’t stay in the profession. On top of that, Covid has escalated how many are leaving. Are you serious? Colleges graduate teachers at a rate of about 20 to every 1 job…we’d be fine if people want to rely on the witch doctor and/or their favorite comic book
Granted…That may be graduation rates, and yet there’s still a massive nationwide teacher shortage. Because they don’t stay in the profession. On top of that, Covid has escalated how many are leaving.
I’m certain many police offers will / would.Granted…
I was more rejecting the notion that people would leave those two professions specifically because of vaccines which help themselves and everyone. Not in dispute.
many have left due to the covid situation…and I understand that as well.
Area?I’m certain many police offers will / would.
Teachers in my area would... I can’t speak for all areas.
A very red southern state. I keep trying to make my escape!Area?
I appreciate that and agree they won’t leave teaching due to vaccine mandates. They are leaving in droves over how they’ve been treated in the last year and a half, though. And covid will impact how many choose to go into the profession as well, I think. The long term impacts on education are going to be significant, I think.Granted…
