The New COVID-Denier's Tactic: It's just a wave!!
Will the current wave eventually die down? Yes. It has to. Once the virus infects and hospitalizes and kills all the unvaccinated, it will have no one else to infect, and it will die out. Every wave will break and fall. It necessarily has to. Or as the cool kids like to point out: "It's plateauing!!"
But, there really shouldn't be a wave in the first place. Hospitals shouldn't be filling up. People shouldn't be dying. That's because we have a vaccine.
But the anti-vaxxers are putting all their eggs in the "it's just a wave" basket.
For, you see, if a wave will eventually break... then NO WORRIES!!...RIGHT??!!?! Just keep looking for the downward slope that will eventually come, and stop looking at the upward slope representing fellow human beings suffering and dying!!!
And if we just look at the downward slope that's plateauing... oh no, wait, not plateauing yet, but by looking at other Delta waves, we can see this wave will break (which, of course, all waves will break), but for now, it's only plateauing, oh, no, wait, it's climbing again, especially in the under-vaccinated counties, but, just you wait, it'll break!! Then we can look at the downward slope and say, "It's all good now. We really don't need vaccines, and certainly don't need to mandated them!!"
This will all work out in the end.
In a lot of needless suffering and death.
But the wave will have broken!!!
