Women on flight refused to wear mask - despite it being policy when she bought ticket.
For no reason at all, despite pleas to wear the one provided in seat pocket, she refused. Then refused to get out of seat. Had to call on board police to take her off. She get's up and leaves.
She was smartly dressed, not drunk, yet she couldn't do this simple request for a 2 hour flight, and was happy to be escorted of the plane.
What type of nonsense is this and how have people got so much time to waste like this? There are all sorts of inconveniences we have to endure even just at an airport. No doubt she was happy to haul her body through an x-ray machine, phyiscal searches, long queues, no liquids, but no to a mask.
The place has gone mad.

But you have to agree there are different levels of vaccinated travel. Disney World with current crowds and Florida’s current situation is quite different than taking a hike in Vermont.
My travel for work situation is pretty luxurious and I’m still nervous about it!

There are also many, many options besides the theme parks of Florida. No-one is saying people should stay locked up in their homes.

We all have our level of comfort. Right now I'm shot 3 in and both in my house otherwise are well within 6 months so we are looking and watching to see if our Epcot day trip will be off or on. After being there in June I know how not busy Epcot is. We'd mask indoors and not spend forever in the parks. Likely won't be too crazy since Sept is not as busy. If FL numbers keep going up or even don't start to drop, we'll cancel our flights and stay home (we are not even spending the night to minimize time there). Flying doesn't worry me at all. 3 of us taking a row and with the air filters and masks we're safe enough. It's what we are comfortable with. Given our vaccine status and me not really wanting to hide away for trial purposes, we're okay there. Not all are. We need to recognize that if people are mindfully making choices with the best info possible and are fully vaccinated with little or no risks as it were, that maybe they are not trying to have a death wish.
If you are not comfortable then that's something I respect. However if you have someone like us, young & fit fully vaccinated masking up indoors (except ice cream cone pick up lol) all while eating meals outside only or in trusted homes, even if it bothers you, try to respect that we are still following guidance. Not all people and situations and comfort levels are equal. Not all people are careless though.

Impossible now maybe... we were not crowded at all in June when we went. Epcot and AK were great for distancing. Even with social distancing removed, people were never on top of us. I deal with GAD and people in my space (behind me particularly) is a trigger at times so I'm very aware of crowds and never try to put myself in them (like nighttime fireworks in parks)

The present situation is what I and others are concerned about. By all accounts, the parks are really crowded now.

It always was bad until schools started back though... that's part of why we never do end of June through mid-Aug

They weren’t really catering to locals too much this year
The reports I heard said there was shortages in restaurants, grocery stores, etc this summer…a real mess
there was a huge amount of car traffic that just kinda “showed up”…like the 70s or 80s.
that’s quarantine fever…and Orlando is flat footed because all their estimates are based on flights and onproperty rooms.
I want to see how that plays moving forward?

No, but other schools are back even here. Labor Day is for the NE. But areas like here already have sports and for my group, a fall musical auditions, now. I'll be doing the auditions this week. Call backs next. Not uncommon to drop off mid Aug. But we're watching. Our flights are on points and going for literally 1 ride (might toss in 1 or 2 others, but mainly outside). If crowds suck, we're going to cancel. If cases suck, we will also cancel. Pointing out that not all throw caution to the wind.
Florida set a new record for COVID hospitalizations. It will soon have more daily deaths than any of its previous spikes...
Texas, Missouri, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama are not far behind.

good lord is florida bad right now..... I know we know how florida is when it comes to this stuff, but this is so sad to me. Its at its worst. It is criminal what has been allowed to transpire there.
