No, and we are unlikely to ever get a decent accounting of those reasons, but I think it's safe to assume that a good number of the deaths were amongst people who had opportunity but chose not to take it.

I'm not someone with very much sympathy for the anti-vaccination crowd, and I wouldn't assume that.

I could be wrong, but I would think people who aren't interested in vaccinations are probably also the same people who would not take any other measures to protect themselves. Why the people who died didn't get vaccinated would be a hard thing to gather statistics on, so we may never know.

Is there a particular reason why Nevada is struggling to get people vaccinated? 51% of 12+ with at least one dose is pretty bad. Worse than Florida and far worse than neighbouring California.

It's my understanding that teens and twenties are what's holding back Florida, but is that the case here? I assume most casino and entertainment staff are vaccinated.

The state is doing a weekly lottery draw starting next week to incentivize more people.

Of course I do, you can go back and finds tons of times I’ve said that. But their blood isn’t on my hand, the vaccine isn’t 100% effective, particularly in immunosuppressed patients. If the stupid, selfish antivaxxers did their duty to humanity and got vaccinated so that we could get to herd immunity and protect those people it would stop happening. The fact that innocent people are dying despite doing everything they could is why I’m particularly bitter and angry towards those ignorant fools. The fact is yet again, this isn’t simply an individual choice and if I had my way there would be serious consequences for refusing one without a valid medical reason, but sadly this society values an individual’s right to be an ignoramous over innocent lives.

However, those people are only sick because somewhere out there, someone did NOT get a vaccine.

There will not be side effects that appear years later, because of how these things work. Once you get to 2 months (but probably sooner) the only thing left in your body from the vaccine are the antibodies and memory B&T cells your body made in response to the virus. After that the only thing that may change is a slow decrease in those things. Therefore, if you are going to have a side effect it’s going to appear before that.

Can't find the actual data that supports this claim. It says half the people in and "outbreak" were vaccinated, but how big was the group? Was it 1 person out of 2, or 10,000 out of 20,000? Makes a big difference.

If you are not allowed to do something (lets say go to a sporting event) without getting vaccinated, how is that not a punishment for not being vaccinated?

If a kid isn't allowed to get a Dole Whip because they hit their sibling on line for Mine Train, are they not being punished?

We know the current outbreak is 100-200 per day in Israel, so half of that. And still growing.

Since the US Taxpayers are cover the entire cost of health care for Covid19, we should require anyone that does not have a legitimate medical reason for not taking it to decide if want to take it or not, but understand that if they don't take the shot they will not have free medical coverage and will have to pay the full amount and that the medical debt for Covid19 can't be included in a bankruptcy. Let people be free but also be responsible. This disease is costing the country too much and it is up to all of us to be responsible for ourselves.

I’d love it…but we cannot. And we shouldn’t need to.

if the chamber of commerce did something right for a change…they’d push all business to require vaccinations…which would hold.

I would imagine that once the shots receive full FDA authorization, insurance companies will start offering discounts to those that have received them.
