Work did their first clinic yesterday for Moderna, they had about 40 people. Out of 200 of us on-site, not bad. Many of us have already gotten ours at other locations. Their medical site 20 miles north will also do family and dependants. Once the Pfizer becomes available to the younger ages they plan to request those as well if they have enough of us request.

Good news. We need more of that everywhere. Make it so easy that it’s hard to say no. My local school district secured enough Pfizer doses for all high school kids 16+ and they are doing a clinic Friday at the high school during the school day. Kids pick an appointment time and leave class and walk down to the gym, get their shot and go back to class 20 mins later. The second doses will be scheduled 3 weeks later and run the same way. They also said once the 12-15 approval comes through they plan to run an additional clinic assuming they can get the doses. I think this is the quickest and easiest way to get a large number of kids 12-17 done efficiently.

Just want to pay homage to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the second for the amazing COVID-19 funeral of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, her beloved husband for 73 years. Despite being the Queen all rules were followed. The sight of her sitting alone, wearing a mask and socially distanced from her family was unbearably poignant. It was still full of splendour but everyone, including the musicians and guards of honour were outside and distanced. If the Queen can manage it at this moment in time surely the rest of us and the world can manage to continue with mitigation requirements a little longer.

Article in todays local Paper here in South Florida how "Vaccine demand Plummets". No waiting, no appointments, 16,000 vaccines waiting to be given out.

The opposite has happened in ON this week. Many clinics closed and appointments cancelled due to lack of supply.

I would fly down to Florida tomorrow and put up with the mandatory hotel quarantine upon return if I was allowed to get an appointment/shot in the state.

I hope all the talk from the top about focusing only on age with vaccines hasn’t damaged the cause. I was critical from the start of the approach to be so outspoken about the need to only vaccinate older people. If a lot of younger people bought into that narrative it may be hard to get them to change their mind now. They were told for months that once we vaccinated the elderly and high risk the threat of Covid would be gone.

They also need to move those doses around to places where there is demand. Other parts of the state if there are still some with demand and if there aren’t any then send them to other states or at least order less doses going forward. It’s still near impossible to get an appointment near me. No good comes from doses sitting in a warehouse while other people are still desperate for a vaccine.

Then masks and social distancing may finally be gone by July or August/September if the COVID-19 threat would be gone?

It could be because she's 94 years old. From what I've read, the few breakthrough cases that have occurred tended to be in very elderly people and the immunocompromised because they are not able to create a sufficient immune response to the vaccine.

Because it’s the RECOMMENDATIONS/RULES and although she could probably have changed them, she chose not to. She stands shoulder to shoulder with all people in the U.K. who have had funerals, weddings etc. under these strange circumstances. And that is most definitely the point service, loyalty and setting an example.

4 days after second Pfizer shot hear and nothing. Both shots, didn’t even feel like the nurse gave it to me. No soreness, not tired.. just hoping she did now. I think I’m vaccinated.

Vaccination percentage in my hospital system (>7000 employees) has stalled at 70%, where it has been for over a month. Disappointingly low, as there has been a strong campaign to get people educated, time off guaranteed, etc. And this is in Illinois. I suspect much lower in other states.

I didn’t like the idea of vaccine passports at first but might change my mind.

I completely agree with setting an example for others who have to follow the rules. But I hope the rules will be quickly changed in response to changed circumstances. I'm fine with wearing a mask if it's actually doing something to stop the spread of the virus. I'm not fine with wearing one to be polite, signal that I care about others, stop others from worrying, etc. When it gets to the point that most people are vaccinated or have the ability to be vaccinated, those reasons will no longer be good enough. At that point (and I'm not saying right now) either mitigations should be dropped or a system should be instituted to exempt vaccinated people from those mitigations.

It's a shame that you probably won't get a lot of people using this. Tools like this can gather a lot of very useful data. The UK did a symptom tracker app that got pretty good usage and provide some interesting data.

I think in this case being a figurehead of the country, it was an act of solidarity and support. Not all are vaccinated and this is a good role model to be. JMO. Of course I don't know UK restrictions either. Might be more severe there than here.

Admittedly I am indifferent to the monarchy as a whole so I didn't watch or even know the funeral was today, so I am making a guess without knowing anything about them outside of what jewelry they wear which is relevant to my work.

As the initial demand start to significantly drop off it won't make sense to continue operating the bigger mega sites and they can start focusing more on small more targeted sites.

I still see respect my freedom to not get the shot... discouraging. I really blame our figure heads for not doing a better job of promoting

With the J&J pause they've had to cancel the mass (240 dose) clinic for our county for this weekend. Hopefully we will hear something soon and be able to pick back up. Considering it accounts for about 10% of vaccinations complete here, that's a big step back.

Here in FL people had to get up 7am to get on the Publix and CVS website to book appointments. Now, no more. CVS and Publix you can go on RIGHT NOW and get an appointment.

Agree with the bolded. All of the anti-passport rhetoric is easily interpreted as anti-vaccine rhetoric. Even as my governor was issuing a press release of him getting his first dose, he was promoting the same drivel as other states. Disappointing, really.

There has to be incentives given for the younger people. It is the only way they will ever really listen. And Figure heads ARE NOT doing that.

Mayor of OC hit it right on the head. "you go get your vaccine, we hit a certain level and things open up without restrictions".

More of that needs to be done.
