12.5 hours after 2nd Moderna shot for me. I woke up with midlu achy head/neck/shoulders, but that's about it so far.

I'm also tired, but we've had a new puppy for 2 weeks, which knives getting up at 130am every night to let him out. So tired is normal right now.

I wonder boosters will need by summer if any new variants will evade vaccines by this summer, fall and winter? I'm scared about there will be new variant any moment now soon.....vaccines are doomed now....is this gonna be another winter surges by this winter or more surges by winter? @GoofGoof now we are never go back to normal... Those new variants will never stop spreading anymore cause people don't care this is the pandemic will never ends at all...I hope the pandemic will end very soon but NO! New variants always show up to ruin our plans for the future. I'm afraid the new variants will stop vaccines to not working anymore. I just want end very soon as masks and social distancing will go gone for good by summer or late summer/fall. This is getting worse than my thought soon.....

Whoa! Take a breath. We're getting there. Turn off the news if it's freaking you out. Its their job to make sure you keep coming back and keep getting those advertiser's dollars. There is also a little incentive for those obscure talking heads that have gained celebrity status during COVID to remain relevant because, once this is over, they go back to their quiet corners. If I were a Pfizer CEO I would want everyone to get a booster every year $$$. But, if we need it, so be it. We do that with the flu. This will be just another thing.

That's not what they said. At 6 months they had robust meaning very strong antibody responses. Not saying 6 months it is gone. Even if we need a booster you will hear from us trial participants who will likely be called in to do it. So far we have not. I have a draw in September a year after my shot and we'll see if we have boosters. News sucks at reporting right. Even the CEO said we could have a year or more for strong antibodies. We'll have to wait. A booster doesn't mean we are doomed either.

What about new variants in the future, are they will be more dangerous to vaccines?

As of right now no variant is really showing signs of evading vaccines as a whole. Future variants we cannot know anything about. Variants can also eventually become more contagious but less deadly too, meaning they, on their own, become a common cold. We simply cannot know for future but vaccines will help stop variants from occurring. Outside of that it isn't something we should spend time worrying about. The news makes it sound bad to sell it for money, not necessarily because it's the right thing to do.

The risk is that there is still a possibility that the virus is still able to transmit from you to others. At this time they do not know if the vaccine prevents you from just getting sick or also blocks transmission.

When you say "at this time," what time do you mean? There was a time - in the early stages of vaccine distribution - when they did not know this because the vaccine trials were not testing for it. But as others have pointed out, multiple studies since then, along with real world studies, show that the vaccines are highly effective at preventing infection and transmission as well as symptoms. The scientists know more now than they did in the early days.

I felt about the same. I was tired and a little achy but if I hadn’t gotten a vaccine and I wasn’t looking for symptoms I probably would have just popped 2 Advil and had a second cup of coffee and went on with my day. Instead I just had the coffee

I was afraid this was going to happen after news of the j&j problems.

Now we are going to need more encouragement from leaders.

I really like Mayor Demmings coming out and saying restrictions can be eased when we get to a certain level. We need more of that now state and country wide.

Article in todays local Paper here in South Florida how "Vaccine demand Plummets". No waiting, no appointments, 16,000 vaccines waiting to be given out.

I was afraid this was going to happen after news of the j&j problems.

Now we are going to need more encouragement from leaders.

I hope all the talk from the top about focusing only on age with vaccines hasn’t damaged the cause. I was critical from the start of the approach to be so outspoken about the need to only vaccinate older people. If a lot of younger people bought into that narrative it may be hard to get them to change their mind now. They were told for months that once we vaccinated the elderly and high risk the threat of Covid would be gone.

They also need to move those doses around to places where there is demand. Other parts of the state if there are still some with demand and if there aren’t any then send them to other states or at least order less doses going forward. It’s still near impossible to get an appointment near me. No good comes from doses sitting in a warehouse while other people are still desperate for a vaccine.

And what concerns me even more is South Florida is the area where you would think MOST people would get the shot. Now with that slowing down I can only imagine the rest of the State how slow that is becoming. Thinking more and more Florida tops out at about 50% and that is it.

I am out and about here in South Florida a lot for work and I am seeing more and more elderly people out so I am assuming they have all been vaccinated which I am at least happy about that.

I felt like that after my Pfizer also. No sore arm or nothing couldnt even see the mark where the needle went in. I thought the same thing LOL did i get the vaccine? lol

NYC started today walk-in acceptance at all sites for those over 50.

We are hitting the point where supply isn’t really the issue anymore. Hopefully 12-15 gets approved soon, that would at least be a wave of vaccines.

An observation on current hospitalizations for Covid and census rates.

Persons currently admitted have lesser severity rates than during Phase 1 and Phase 2. Current admitted cases are at a level of severity where you would have been sent home previously.

That was essentially my experience, I got my 2nd Moderna shot on April 14th.
I woke up at 6:30 on the 15th to copilot my son's drive to work. (He's getting familiar with driving his first car)
I came home from that drive shortly after 8:00am, and actually went back in bed for an hour or so - which is not like me.
The rest of the day, I was generally tired and sort of achey.
It was also a horribly dreary, rainy day, so that certainly didn't help.
I did drive from central NJ to Staten Island to pick up my taxes, so I was good for that.
The next day (yesterday) I was 100% normal, and went to the gym.
My first shot by contrast left me with absolutely no side effects, 'cept for some mild soreness if I actually pressed on the injection location.

Work did their first clinic yesterday for Moderna, they had about 40 people. Out of 200 of us on-site, not bad. Many of us have already gotten ours at other locations. Their medical site 20 miles north will also do family and dependants. Once the Pfizer becomes available to the younger ages they plan to request those as well if they have enough of us request.
