If they are talking about rolling out vaccine passports now, what about people who are under the age of 16? Maybe some companies could simply say "adults only," but that certainly wouldn't work for a company like Disney. Surely there would have to be exceptions made for kids until vaccines are generally available to them. (Not saying I'm in favor of vaccine passports, just posing the question.)

I agree with this. In theory it’s a decent concept but it can‘t work in practice for a while longer because of kids. In NY where they are running the test of the system they have already decided to require either a negative Covid test or proof of vaccination to get into a baseball game. In that case kids would have to get the test. For a one time day/night out at the ballpark it may not be as big a deal, but how many families would want to go to WDW for a week and have their kids get a Covid test daily to enter the parks? I imagine some would do it, but that would turn many people off and they could take their kids to the beach or a national park without that requirement.

I think a vaccine passport could work in select environments. It’s possible some bars could implement it or a place like a concert venue. Anywhere where kids wouldn’t attend.

This is the epitome of the American "me first" attitude. You are thinking of nothing but yourself. Consider my son, who works at Publix, who will have to "deal" with your selfish attitude.

I don't think many private businesses will require it. I think it will needed for cruises, for air travel and international travel.

Help me understand why a vaccination passport wouldn’t work because of kids? I thought the passport indicated verified vaccination status. Until kids can get vaccinated, they would not receive vaccination passports. I don’t understand why this would be a problem.

My attitude isn't selfish. I'll be fully vaccinated and the community will be at far lower risk from me than they were before I was vaccinated and wearing a face covering. I've complied with things I've disagreed with for a year now. Once I'm 2 weeks post second shot "the science" is on my side.

As I've said, if I choose to visit WDW I will continue to comply with thier rules because it is a voluntary leisure activity.

Publix has the mask policy because it is local government mandated (or so days the sign). Same with the mask on in a restaurant while not actively eating or drinking rule. I know for a fact the restaurants I frequent wouldn't have that rule if not for the county order. It's mostly the county mandates that I will be opting out of.

Only if the seal on the vial isn't broken. Once the seal is broken you only have a few hours to use all the doses.

But by not wearing a mask aren't you sending a bad message to people who haven't been vaccinated? By not wearing a mask you are in a way encouraging others not to ware it either.

I missed yesterday's numbers because of a refrigerator disaster. Anyway, given hoe bad my weekend was it is only natural that the Covid19 numbers were dreadful. NJ and NY are at 49 cases per 100,000. I never thought we would see numbers like that again. Florida is at 24 do nothing happy there. However there are still 11 atates in single digits and 24 states in the 10's so everything is not horrible but country wide it is not good news. But watching CNBC this morning Scott Gottlieb did say he believes things are about to get better now that we are about to reach the tipping point in vaccinations. It is becausr of the CNBC reports that I still believe that by the end of April we will be down to single digits nationwide and the US Pandemic will be over. We now have 3 straight days with over 3 million vaccines distributed. In April there should be 100,000 million shots if not more. Get your shot, wash your hands and do the right thing for 5 weeks and we will beat Covid19.

So you are saying just ban all kids? That works for a bar and probably a concert venue and you could do adult only cruises. That can’t work for WDW, they would rather keep Covid safety protocols like masks and distancing and continue to allow kids in too.

The whole point of a vaccine passport is that if community spread is still too high to remove Covid protocols then as a business you can require proof of vaccination instead and then you don’t need the covid safety protocols because everyone is vaccinated or in the case of certain businesses there are no existing safety protocols to allow you to be open and the hope is that adding this will get you open (cruises, concerts, baseball in NY). If you just exempt kids that defeats the purpose. If a third to half the people at your business (like WDW would be) don’t have the vaccine because they are kids and aren’t eligible then you are removing safety protocols without guaranteeing that a large number of visitors are actually vaccinated.

For a business like the Yankees and Mets the government is saying they can‘t allow fans in the stands without a negative test or proof of vaccine so their 2 options are no fans or follow the vaccine/test rule. The same would go for a concert venue that’s shut down right now and also maybe cruise lines too that aren’t operating right now. For WDW they have a third option which is continue to operate with existing safety protocols and that option doesn’t alienate a large portion of a key demographic.

I never said Florida solved anything. I've always said there is no solution except a complete and total lockdown for at least two months which would be unreasonable and likely unconstitutional.

You are free to your opinion about me. If somebody is afraid I will react violently (which I won't) then they shouldn't confront me. There were still a ton of restrictions even with mask wearing so wearing one didn't help me do anything except go to WDW to take advantage of historically low wait times in the first few weeks after reopening. I'll wear a biohazard suit if I can continuously re-ride FoP with no wait, shortcutting back through the FP line at exit like I was able to when they first reopened.

If a random stranger follows my lead then so be it. I'm not going to be out running a campaign to follow what I'm doing.

Nope, that's not my motivation at all. I don't really care what other people do. It is annoying to wear one and once I've reached maximum protection from being vaccinated there is no scientific basis to continue to do so. I'd have absolutely no problem telling the world if I've been going maskless. Believe what you want but I've complied to this point. I won't put it on until I am crossing the threshold of the door into a store and I rip it off the second I cross the threshold on the way out but I comply with the letter of the rules.

Getting vaccinated is for the good of society and I'm doing that. The vaccination replaces the need to do the other stuff as it is far more effective than the other mitigation measures. As I've said, to this point I've complied with rules that I disagree with "for the good of society."

Why do people think that wearing a mask is so hard? The thing weighs nothing and I wear it for 10 hours or more at work and doesn't restrict my breathing or any of my coworkers. Then people say it takes away their freedom! These same places that require you to wear a mask also require you to wear shirt and shoes!! So where are all the shirt and shoes protesters? How come people are not burning the shoes and shirts?

Airlines in the US already said requiring vaccine passports was a hard no for them for Domestic flights. It would ruin their business. They are not opposed to having a vaccine passport system but they do not want the government to mandate proof of vaccination to fly domestically. They are on board for International flights especially to higher risk areas.
