I have no doubt D'Amaro quietly hates Chapek but he isn't stupid enough to cause conflict. Chapek has a control focused personality and he isn't likely to offer much autonomy to the parks for major decisions.

I would say that is probably exactly the reason....

It's docking at the ROE globe barge dock, which is L shaped. It was designed to center a 10 foot barge but this one is 20 feet, so we're about 10 feet too far to the right. And since the dock is two-sided, they can't just slide the barge down a bit. It's up against a corner

Just wanted to add. It's Flippin absurd that they didn't forsee this issue and take out the 90 degree curve in the dock. They built 4 new ones but couldn't handle that... Maybe they thought nobody would notice. They're wrong

Wishful thinking they will fix it somehow, if they even can. Unless they wanted it off center for what reason.

I'm here now and I can confirm it's just as bad as it looks in the pics. Telephoto or not these things are massive. They don't quite ruin the photo pass shots from Germany, Italy, and japan, but you're definitely not hiding a 30' tall building with fountains.
