this is exactly why disney (and other companies) should be campaigning for proper health and safety in the overall community, not just their own property. Eventually the choices that the state has been making are going to come knocking on their door.
Who's cutting it down? Doc in charge of the vaccine rollout at our largest hospital system was asked if they were holding back doses for the second shots. The answer was no, that the second doses would be arriving in subsequent shipments. If that's what they're doing in Florida, then I see no issue with it. You don't need the second doses on hand today, you need them in a few weeks. Just-in-time.

I already expected 2021 to be pretty much another lost year. Even with the vaccine, by the time enough get the shots, it will still be a while, and we will still be living with many, not all, but many of the mitigation efforts at least until next fall.It’s not a situation where “casting the net”

2021 is lost due to the sheer size of the problem here...and all the numbers are gonna go off the charts for the next 4 months if people don’t shut up and do the mitigation. Not interested in anyone’s “opinions”...they had their shot and clanked it. Spreading out the doses in Florida will mean nothing...especially to Florida for their purposes here.

I read that as him saying he thinks just getting the first dose is enough. Really frightening stuff. I would hope that the hospitals and medical professionals involved in administering the vaccinations would not follow that even if he says he wants to do that. It’s also going to cause a certain percent of the people to not show up for the second dose since the Governor is saying 1 dose is enough to make the difference. If that’s not what he meant by those comments he needs to get out there now and say what he really meant.
I agree that the first half of 2021 is pretty much shot. I do however feel the midsummer portion of the year we will start seeing real change and loosening of mitigation efforts. Come fall 2021 I think we are back to the full normal. So I don't think it's fair to say 2021 is totally shot, let's start living with some real optimism, we can sure use some now with this year finally coming to a close.
The mitigation efforts will be done by mid-2021. Why? Because people will just stop doing them. I'm not saying that's right. I'm just saying what I believe to be reality. No matter how much you try to educate people, no matter what the numbers look like, and no matter how many mandates are issued, there is going to come a point at which people just say, "screw this, I'm not doing it anymore" and stop. It's going to happen.
