So, if you were going to see a Wild West show featuring Calamity Jane.... what would you have expected?
I don’t know who that is, but I’d have expected her to be a gun wielding human who shoots people accurately?

That would certainly make that town's morgue calamitous!I don’t know who that is, but I’d have expected her to be a gun wielding human who shoots people accurately?
You guessed correctly!I don’t know who that is, but I’d have expected her to be a gun wielding human who shoots people accurately?
*waits for rant*Early 2021 (in the usual off season, prob Feb or *maybe* early March as an educated guess) seems to be the new favored window for Rat opening. Not sure if they will, but they could give a date if they had it fully nailed down. The ride, CM training aside, is effectively ready to go. Only a few area touches are left at this point.
Interested to see how they go about staffing. They do have quite the domestic base that needs work to tap into though (which is in need of work), so I'm sure it won't be too difficult, even if not ideal (I'll save my rant about how reassigned people to World Showcase have been killing its ops for another time).
Who knew that when Marni said it would be a copy, he literally meant exact copy with all the ride controls in French...Why do they need French people to operate the ride?
Why do they need French people to operate the ride? Guests won't even interact with the ride CMs. American CMs can simple learn to say Bonjour at guests entering,
If it was for the La Creperie or for the shops then fine but ride unnecessary.
I saw the article you mentioned, and as someone in line to return to Epcot as a CRP I did some research to see what was going on because I hadn’t heard anything. The recruiting they mentioned is actually by a third party recruiter that hires for the food and beverage venues in the pavilion and looks to be outdated. It’s complicated because these people would be working for Chefs de France, not Disney directly, however they would need to live in Disney sponsored housing, which is not reopened yet and have had most their staff laid off. So saying all that, even if this company was hiring, it would not be for attraction hosts, so not really an indication of the attraction opening. Just another example of that other site making stuff up.I just read an article from another popular WDW news site suggesting that the French recruiting agency used by Disney to employ French cast members have posted a job listing looking for the people to operate the Ratatouille attraction. After a quick search I couldn’t find the job listing online but this could be exciting news, not only for the opening of the attraction but, and more exciting for me personally, the return of the Cultural Representatives. Despite the wonderful job the cast members currently manning the pavilions are doing, I think the Cultural Reps are the life and soul of the World Showcase (the current cast members could be redeployed elsewhere of course, no one wants more jobs lost!).
With a possible vaccine now on the way and the visa ban due to end January 1st (Covid-permitting), could we start seeing the Cultural Representative Program begin to return in early 2021?
Thanks for the info! I've got 4 kiddos that will be super bummed in January, but that's the way it goes I guessThe ride will still open between March and June as things stand.
No way the CRPs are coming back for a while. I feel the domestic CMs will get ticked off if there is more layoffs as a result of bringing the program back.I saw the article you mentioned, and as someone in line to return to Epcot as a CRP I did some research to see what was going on because I hadn’t heard anything. Nice, but really needs some kind of weenie at the end to draw people down the boulevard. Doesn't look like it leads anywhere but bathrooms and just ends in a gate.View attachment 511938View attachment 511939

We'll be arriving the Saturday after you, so I hope is is open for your trip!As it stands now I have a trip booked last March 21, 2021. Hopefully it will be open by then.
Does Frozen Ever After have Norwegian CMs operating the ride? I didn't notice it.World Showcase always had cast from the specific country up until reopening after Corona.
Of course they could be American but it’s nice to have that little extra, especially in times when it seems like these little extras are being taken away.
