It's depressing to see that WDW Magic board members make more sense than anyone higher up at Disney.
We have no idea what Disney Execs are thinking or whether the decisions they're making "make sense" for what they're trying to do. What seems like an "obvious choice" to any of us may not be so obvious to the people making the actual decisions.but if it's a choice between finishing Tron and Guardians and keeping Splash open and having all three closed... It's a pretty obvious choice.
Fans like us here on these boards have limited information and NO responsibility for decisions we think Disney should make. It's super easy for us to say, "just turn the theater into PatF" or "leave Splash as is!" But we have no idea what those wonderful ideas would actually entail/cost or what alternative ideas they're batting around, or who they're actually trying to please (though sometimes it's obvious that they're not trying to please many of us). I can think of a thousand things that could factor into Disney's thinking that would make this change a no brainer. A slam dunk. An urgent priority. But we just don't know everything, and circling round and round with reasons those "idiots" at Disney simply can't get things right may feel good because it affirms our biases and opinions, but I find it exhausting.
Disney announced that Splash Mountain is going to change. The debate about why or whether it's a good idea or not is supposed to happen in any of the other threads about the subject- this one was SUPPOSED to be about the ride itself. Yet you all persist in throwing out alternative ideas, theoretical solutions to problems you cannot fully understand. I don't get it.
