Don't know, there is no test and trace. 123K tests reported on a Sunday tho..... Good percentage so maybe that is the sweet spot for testing but still no one looking for contacts of positives in any meaningful way. Til that happens we don't know where the cases originate.
Only 40,000 the day before. I‘d say there‘s a pretty good chance that there was a reporting issue and if you net the 2 days together it’s around 80K a day which is more in line with averages.
This is a line that has very disappointingly been adopted by the amusement industry. It’s been decided that a lack of evidence is evidence.

Your point is well taken that we don’t know exactly how many cases have arisen from WDW specifically. Especially if guests get sick, drive home, and don’t comply with contact tracers. I can only assume that the CM unions and employee groups would be raising holy heck about unsafe working conditions, which is why I largely “trust” their protocols. Orange Co, FL, has seen an uptick but only proportional to the rest of the state. Disney is only so powerful to control the narrative.
I’d agree, except that CMs are represented by several different unions, and each of them are only notified about positive tests results among their own members.
Fair, again. Still, if there was a large outbreak among, say, F&B or attractions staff, it might be enough for their respective local to become vocal, or reach out to other union heads first and compare general stats.
If there was evidence of it, I think it would have been made public.
I truly hope Disney CMs are safe! I also hope they feel safe (which, of course, may not be the same thing).
Not just the amusement industry, this is everywhere. This mentality like "If I'm not sick, and I don't have any friends that are sick, there is no reason to wear a mask or keep a distance away" is certainly contributing to the persistence of this.
By whom? Disney (who doesn’t want anyone to know those numbers)? CMs (who are just happy to have jobs)? The unions (who aren’t notified of total numbers)? Guests (who by going to the parks during a pandemic prove that they’re willing to engage in more risky behavior in other aspects of their lives)?
CMs and guests are two very different groups. I don't see how anyone can effectively trace guest cases. My employer has publicly disclosed case numbers about nine different ways since May. I would hope that the CMs who need to know are being informed.

Everyone not ABC or NBC news (who admittedly have a conflict of interest) would have a whole lot of incentive for any group willing to come forward.
I'm not sure what the point of that would be. Ratings? Nah the pr hit would far outweigh any one day bump from the story. There is no percentage in amplifying any spread from the parks, it won't change anything and it can hurt you and the area's rep and proving it would be trouble. A no upside situation to highlight the parks.
