Remember, it is highly likely we won’t know the real numbers for the present day - reality RIGHT NOW - for one or two weeks. What we are seeing now, because of reporting lag, is the last week or two, when we were constantly told everything was fine.
That pretty much sums up the whole thing. Well put. Simple and to the point. In trying to figure out the factors that cause the numbers of cases to rise, the most direct answer is "all of the above". The virus does not say "well these people over there are jerks so we'll affect them more than people over here because they are just having fun or doing something for a cause". The virus doesn't care. If the conditions in place A where 30 people contracted it are similar to conditions in place B, then people in place B are equally at risk.
Just general objections to them being open? They have only been open for a few hours so I can’t imagine there’s already problems. Are there?
like many of us stated a few weeks ago, its the optics. Everyone is disappointed that they would open when Florida is suffering so much.
I think Disney has more risk of being identified as being the site of infection due to the nature of the way people visit. Universal and Sea World are primarily a day or 2 each. Most people don’t visit either of those places for a week or more straight. So if someone who visited one of those parks tests positive and they ask the person what they did in the past 2 weeks they may have a day at Universal or a day at Sea World but they may have also gone to work or to the beach or out to eat or to various retail locations. It’s hard to pinpoint the infection to a place you were only at for a day or 2. Same goes for some people who visit WDW (especially locals), but there are many people from out of state who visit for a week or more at a time. If someone gets sick and tests positive and they have been at WDW for the last 10 days it’s going to get pinned on WDW (even though they still could have gotten sick at the airport or somewhere else). This has happened with travel in general near me. Several counties have identified out of state travel to a hot spot as a cause of infection because the infected where there for more than a day or 2 and came back.
Just give it two weeks...
I arrive at WDW in 2 weeks to the day, so we shall see. If the death count doesn't dramatically increase, I'll expect to see some of you there with me. Not too many though. The thought of walking down Main St. USA with a handful of other guests sounds awesome.

what I saw on Twitter was along the lines of general objections like ‘FL is an epicenter why is Disney opening?’ and things like Tinkerbell spreading COVID like pixie dust.
This is going to be the new thing on these boards...people just walking around Disney trying to find that one instance where someone pulls down their mask for a minute or more than 5 people are standing with one another. and snap a picture and post it about how bad Disney and everyone going is......Its just ridiculous...people really need to stop just trying to paint EVERYTHING in a bad light....I see the same posters in 5 different rooms ALL DAY EVERY DAY just typing the same thing about how bad everyone that visits Disney is...we get it...you disapprove...move on
