I have not...but would love to do them and the antibody tests when, where and if they are available.

Even in a “hot spot” and now “recovered” state, they still are requiring doctors permission and somewhat rationing them unless you are symptomatic.

As an aside...that video OB77 just posted makes it look like not a big deal any longer...very simple/non-invasive nasal swab. No issues with that, really.
A lot of doctors don’t think the rapid test is accurate enough. We won’t use it in in our facility.

Also, based on personal experience in the panhandle this past week, the beaches in and of themselves aren’t a problem. It’s all the businesses that exist because of the beaches where people pack like sardines. We kept to ourselves and did our eating in the cottage aside from some take out.
I have heard from So many friends that the panhandle is a disaster. We live in Bham so most people vacation down there. Sounds like a crowded mess!

Casinos can open but restaurants can’t. That’s weird...
I’m shocked the casinos were held this long? We know that’s about money.

My take was - just like Disney - they weren’t in a hurry at all.

Did you hear why Murphy pulled the reigns back? I think I heard you scream from my front yard? Was that you? 😎

I think I read it was around 50%
Only about 50% sensitive, meaning your missing about half the cases. My hospital decided against buying the Abbot machine once we realized how useless it was.

Antibody tests have the opposite problem right now. They're too non-specific, and we're not sure right now how long the titers last. They're only useful currently for epidemiology purposes.

That tells me more work needs done on testing then, does it not?

Not just for covid...but for whatever may come after covid down the road. We need to make a national investment in this vital Infrastructure. But that’s just my opinion.
The rapid tests depend on getting a good enough sample. The only way to almost guarantee a sufficient sample is bronchoscopy, which will never be possible on a large scale.

I honestly don't understand the logic at all behind casinos can open up but theme parks can't?? I went to a casino recently and all the slot machines were full. Add to that everyone is inside and spending time sitting near eachother... but a theme park is too risky.
