Think for yourselfer
I’m shocked the casinos were held this long? We know that’s about money.

My take was - just like Disney - they weren’t in a hurry at all.

Did you hear why Murphy pulled the rains back? I think I heard you scream from my front yard? Was that you? 😎
I am defeated. I’ve gone from screaming to just shaking my head. I am helpless.

Did you see Murphy was eating/drinking indoors this past weekend. Odd, that.

NJ has announced it will postpone indoor dining indefinitely.

Well that ended fast. People need to get their acts together on this stuff or all these businesses will suffer. Someone who followed the rules and planned to open their restaurant the right way is punished now due to a few idiots that decided to open without rules and the people that showed up and couldn’t help themselves. If you show up somewhere and it looks like that picture...leave. Just because it’s open doesn’t mean you have to stay. People need to start taking some responsibility for themselves. The states also need to start pulling liquor licenses. First a warning, then if you mess up again a 30 day suspension then a year for strike 2 and finally if you get to strike 3 it’s gone for good and you are out of business.

You figure the NJ people (or these ones specifically) would have played this smarter after all the state has been through during this pandemic. They got rocked.

maybe they will get to reopen after the holiday weekend.

"False negatives", oh boy, here we go...... I presume in addition to that, there are no false positives?
High false negative rate = low sensitivity.

High false positive rate = low specificity.

The problem with the rapid Abbot test was low sensitivity, so in a case where you want to make sure you can identify everyone that actually has the disease (like in a pandemic), a test with a low sensitivity is not particularly useful. Hence, nobody is using this test anymore.

I don't go to a place that crowed, pandemic or no pandemic. Even when I go to football/hockey games I'm there before the crowd and leave after everyone else.

I still maintain that a majority of restaurants and businesses can pull off a safe reopening but I never thought NJ/NY were anywhere close to doing so. They had the most difficult type of density to control and seemed adamantly averse to opening. It was like a green light flickered on and everyone was making plans to open. That’s why I have a hard time pointing fingers at any state including Florida. Everyone was encouraged by where we were last month and so eager to live life. Nobody knows what the heck to do. Covid changed how we do anything. It’s amazing.

Only about 50% sensitive, meaning your missing about half the cases. My hospital decided against buying the Abbot machine once we realized how useless it was.

Antibody tests have the opposite problem right now. They're too non-specific, and we're not sure right now how long the titers last. They're only useful currently for epidemiology purposes.
Still a mess...

Sounds like we just aren’t there yet. In a “fast paced” world with little patience, biology and research don’t seem to be too concerned with how long things take.

The reason given - though there’s been issues - was NOT because of events in New Jersey.

It was a precautionary move based on “results in states that eased restrictions prior”

...you do the math. I’ll give you 3 guesses who he’s referring to.

These areas are tough...population density is always tough.

But that’s theory...there are someplaces that are proving daily that they can’t pull it off In real time. Lots of people in those spots too.

So, what is the sense that numbers of daily infections could actually drop over the next few weeks? I’m an eternal optimist
This pretty much needs to happen for FL. The opposite will create a world of hurt for the state. I know additional federal resources have been sent to help.
