Same. I've loved this ride essentially my whole life. It's the one ride that is a "can't miss" for me. This one hurts big time.

Well all the complaining worked! Now time to tackle American Adventure and Its a Small World next! Once those misrepresentations are gone we can finally free the animals at Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom lodge! Then we can take out John at CoP all while they demo WL and replace the trees that they built over! I love it when a plan comes together!

I’m sorry but this is a bad move by disney. Also the timing isn’t a coincidence even though they expect us to believe this was agreed to last year.

Ugh. I'm not surprised Disney is doing this what with how incredibly cowardly they are, but I'm still angry. I like The Princess and the Frog, but the ride was fine as is and I'm already cringing at the thought of all those animatronics getting trashed like the ones from Universe of Energy and The Great Movie Ride.
And mark my words, once this opens all of the people who claimed Splash Mountain was problematic will be complaining that The Princess and the Frog is problematic too.

Yeah the more I think about this the more infuriated I get. Bring on the lazy projection mappings and enormous reduction in animatronics. This is akin to changing the Haunted Mansion to Paranorman or something.

I like the boat in the tree on top of the mountain. “The retheming of Splash Mountain is of particular importance today,” according to a statement posted to the Disney Parks Blog. “The new concept is inclusive — one that all of our guests can connect with and be inspired by, and it speaks to the diversity of the millions of people who visit our parks each year.”

Rides come and go. Its the nature of the theme park industry. No matter how iconic a ride may be, its inevitable that it won't have meaning to a new generation 40 years later.
This will go over very well with kids and teens.
