My dh makes bison burgers on the grill. His suggestion is cook until medium over a lower flame due to the lower fat content. Sometime he'll lightly smoke them in the smoker before giving a quick char on the grill

Yes, as mentioned, I do use it for meatloaf (made with some ketchup, spices--such as 1/2 packet of Lipton Onion soup mix, an egg, and Worcestershire Sauce). That's for about a 1-pound package of bison. Note, I don't use any breadcrumbs in the meatloaf, as bison is so lean, it's dry enough. (Cook in 350 oven for 50-55 minutes.) I have not used bison for anything else, including burgers. If you want to experiment a bit with it, may I suggest you look online for some tips on how to cook it, without it drying out.

(They saw the price of hotels LOL.) Then one (the one who is "our" friend) actually asked me if I wouldn't "read" the one who moved out. In my house.

I said I have no intention of starting anything, but I'm not making any such promises.

Yes that is a good show! I totally forgot about it as we don’t have PBS with Hulu but there is an app for it on our Roku. I should go into it today and watch Rick Steves and maybe some other PBS goodness.🙂

I know that it is really nothing anymore but a symbol of days gone by for me, but, I honestly will not have the same road trip nostalgia without it. So may it last forever. Or until I no longer exist.
Just without my financial support! I will give it a thumbs up on my way past it, in either direction. Hopefully that will be enough to keep it alive.

While I admit that Disney made a movie based on the Uncle Remus stories, the ride technically is based on those stories and not the movie. The Uncle Remus stores have been around since the 1800's. The movie made an attempt to make a story out of a story, but the only thing, other those stories, in the ride is the song Zip-a-dee-doo-dah. That came from the movie. In this case, being about the movie and being in the movie are two completely different events. Most of the people that ride Splash Mountain have never seen Song of the South and I'd bet that most really have never even heard of it.

I was just sitting here trying to figure out how to rig her "bed steps." We bought her those big, sturdy (but plastic) steps to make it easier to get up on the bed. Often she would just use one step and jump up, and she usually just jumps down unless I can tell she's about to jump off and redirect her to take the stairs down. We know dogs of her size and breed often get issues with their legs as they get older, and she's already had issues several times where she'd end up limping and needed meds.

Now she has a really hard time getting up the steps (she's 10.) And she really wants to come up. She'll keep trying for a few minutes in the middle of the night and several times a day. Maybe once a day she makes it up, but it must be painful or she wouldn't struggle.

Regular check up at the vet last week, they suggested it's probably arthritis and suggested glucosamine/chondroitin. I've looked at a couple of places, trying to find a decent deal on something that might be less of a struggle to get her to take, but haven't purchased anything yet. Stores are not a place I want to be right now lol.

Anyway, I thought if I could take a thick piece of wood as wide as the steps, put one under the steps (to secure it) and the other on top of the steps, but put something at the bottom of the steps to decrease the slope, it would be a less steep ramp, and that might help.

If you really wanted to know how ironic my statement was, you should see the amount of cheese I consume. The difference is that I am still loyal to Vermont, so it's Cabot Cheese (Vermont Cheddar). 🙂
