I find that the problem with L L Bean is that even with a 20% reduction it is still 50% higher then stuff can be purchased elsewhere. Don't shoot me, it's just the frugal way I think.

I understand. I'm selective in what I buy there (and usually try to wait for a sale). For so many years, I've relied on them for quality items and excellent customer service. They have never let me down.

Again, I tend to buy certain items that are classically styled and avoid more trendy items, as I want to keep their clothing for many years. I will tell you that they are consistent in their pricing (as I follow them when I see something I like--waiting for it to go on sale), and have never seen them inflate the retail price ahead of a sale discounted price. (I do know of other stores that do that, and it's unethical.)

DH has to go packed 10-14 days tomorrow. He doesn’t know where yet. 😟

Oh good lord ... up to 2 weeks?! Aside of the initial concerns about location, long hours, where to eat, etc., I almost immediately thought to myself: I hope he charges up all of his devices before he goes. Power may be off wherever he's headed.

But then I realized -- wait -- he IS the electric company guy! He fixes it and will never be without power! :hilarious:

I have a Disney gift card since last October and that includes a trip to Disney in May. Should have used it on food.

Speaking of gift cards, we just used a $50 one (a gift from a former office worker), to a local restaurant this afternoon. Food was good and lots of it, too! And, I had a cocktail made with watermelon, tequila, some other thing, and some lime juice. :hungry: When we were departing the restaurant, I walked into a wall. :joyfull: (Guess you can tell that I don't drink often.) :p

🤣🤣DH says to tell you he has a 900 watt power converter. He can charge up his phone and computer in the truck. He put that in after a long storm years ago. Thank you for your support!

Don't get me wrong, I know that there are many that are quite happy with LL Bean. I also don't think that they raise prices so they can discount them. They just start out with high prices that have room to be discounted and still make a profit. Nothing wrong with that, it's called business and like WDW if a person finds that the cost is justified then it is fine.

I hate, hate, hate buying clothes. Heck I have socks that are as old as some of our posters here, so that kind of eliminates my need to spend a lot on clothing and I am not an outdoors person so not much of a draw in that direction either. I think that last thing I bought from there was a backpack that my daughter wanted when she started college. She still has it, but it has her maiden name embroidered on it, so it isn't used often. I don't remember what I paid for that, but it seems like I was close to needing a respirator as I gave them my credit card number.

Over that last two years I have received a number of Gift Cards for Disney. I found a website that is run by Disney, I think. It allows you to record each one and if you want you can transfer the balances on to just one. I did that and had accumulated $350.00 worth of Gift Cards. I transferred the balances to one card an then paid for my upcoming two day, park hopper with it. Very handy!

I use that site myself. I think I just forgot that rogue gift card. Well it is for another time.

That must have been a lot of work. They look scrumptious!
She posted the donuts photos on Facebook. Her girlfriend said "Can I have one ppplllleeeeaaaasssseee?!?!" Naturally my wife had a kitchen full of stuff to clean so I was the one who drove 20 minutes to her girlfriend's house to deliver donuts.
40 minute round trip the night before my first day of school
