Honestly seeing stuff like this makes me truly appreciate Disneyland’s approach. Even if it made twitter label it a failure.
I mean, the hotel reservation system would’ve never worked in Florida. Way too many rooms.

The audio ambiance also seems to be pretty lacking or too subdued.
Disneyland did do it right. People have their whole lives to see SW:GE... no reason to pack every possible human in right at opening.
People have long complained about Disney’s crowds - then, when Disney actually does something to mitigate the crowds - people label them a failure. Can’t win.
Maybe Disney should just be more like Universal and allow ten hour lines for new rides like there was for Hagrid’s. Now that’s success.
That's awesome. I guess the preview vids out there didn't quite do them all justice. When I visited GE at DL, I thought the audio ambiance was pretty neat. Sometimes the sounds really made me look up to see if something was flying overhead. And in the resistance forest part, you could here big "animals" stomping through the woods. It sounded as if they could burst through the trees at any moment.
Don't know if it's excactly the same at WDW, but I guess it will be...
150 minutes is more manageable than earlier.
Yeah but don't forget you have to wait two hours or so before even getting in line. So really 2 hours to get into the land + 150 min in line = 4.5 hour effective wait.Quite reasonable for the first day, I’d say.
Imagine what it would be with FastPass. Probably 4+ hours of misery for the have-nots.

Why are people stuck on this?? It's a virtual queue. Go meet Vampirina and ride TSMM. You aren't waiting 2 hours to get into the land in a line.
Here is a video walkthrough of the land from this morning
I went there for The first time during ap preview and it GOT really crowded for lunch. I actually didnt Even know it was there because i never bothered going there in The past.
Hogwash. It’s not like people are stuck in a holding pen waiting to enter. You can experience the whole rest of the park, eat, shop, etc.
As for the line, it looks to me like there’s 30-45 minutes of entertainment while you wait with tons to look at, preshows, and more, which in my world means it’s really a 90 minute wait. That’s like the old days.... and keep in mind this truly is the first day for thousands and thousands of Florida based APs...
You don’t wait. Go elsewhere and wait for the notification.Yeah but don't forget you have to wait two hours or so before even getting in line. So really 2 hours to get into the land + 150 min in line = 4.5 hour effective wait.
Very true. And that will make it hard to truly gauge how successful it is until a ways down the road. Realistically, this land will go however rise goes. Top attraction in Florida, equals victory for the land and all the praise in the world. If rise ends up underwhelming, I wouldn't say it's a failure, but it will be a disappointment. In a park with little else to do, SWGE will always look like a victory. Look at the lines for TSMM in DHS versus DCA.
MCO is reporting on the situation:

Oh don't get me wrong - I think the virtual queue is a great idea and good way of managing crowds. My point was more around demand for the attraction - you can't equate the 150min wait time to FoP or Slinky, or Hagrids, because there is a managed system to even get in line. I.e. it's not apples to apples. That was my only point. You don’t wait. Go elsewhere and wait for the notification.
The way to gauge the lands success or failure is how attendance at DHS looks for 2020, IMO. Does it move to 2nd place in Orlando? Does it drive up attendance to DHS by any significant number?Very true. And that will make it hard to truly gage how successful it is until a ways down the road. Didn’t even see that! Lol. We’re so happy. Doing MuppetVision while waiting. ST was a walk on.
