Can they run the RR backwards? Have they ever done so with guests? Yes to both. Skip to 6:57 in this video by @marni1971
Just to be clear, I am talking about the speedway. But now that you mention it…Wrong and please never say this again
As long as you're here with your Carnac hat on -- anyone old enough to even get that reference? -- do you have any indication at this time that there is any thought being given to actually closing the Speedway vs. any of the proposals to adjust/retheme/etc.?
You answered your own questionWhy do people care about the theme of the speedway? It’s hardly “tomorrow” in Tomorrowland.

But Tomorrowland Speedway it is still becoming Tron themed, right too?
It’s still the plan to overlay, not remove.Unclear at this point.
WDWRR down for up to two years?????
Most of us want the speedway to be updated to a tron-like aesthetic not necessarily a Tron-Branded Speedway. Not sure why there would be much passion on the board for a Tron-themed overlay for the speedway. The idea of two Tron themed rides next to each doesn’t make much sense unless they plan to rename Tomorrowland to Tron Land (yuck). As well, this would also put an awful lot of capital and space in service to a relatively weak IP.
It actually doesn’t smell too bad....Don't know about you, but
I...LOVE...the...smell...of...gasoline!
Ahhhhhh!
You want bare minimum? This:I came in here to say this lol
Fingers crossed we get electric cars at the bare minimum.
That's what people forget, and the fact they're reversed into the roundhouse every night. There's a few different ways that it could work. They could either run 1 or 2 locomotives, but I think they would go with 1.They did it in 1991/2 during Splash Mountain Construction.
speedway dirt
It’s still the plan to overlay, not remove.
The narration wouldn't be a problem. They would just record a temporary version like they did when Splash was being built. And finally, it would be hard to understand the narrative played backwards
Speedway can be super plussed not only with electric cars and a TRON aesthetic, but with height and some helical track. Longer track, smaller footprint, hopefully.

Yeah, but it would cost them 200 million after all the WDI research trips to Monaco.
