If people realize that you're working on weekends, they'll never leave you alone. If there is one thing I've learned from all my years in the workforce, it's imperative for your sanity, to establish boundaries--we all need to strike a balance between home and work.
Omg this!!!!

I once did work a few times on weekends because we were supposed to be on a hurry to make one site start selling products.
They somehow made them think it was ok to bug me on the weekends. I put a huge stop to that.

So unless they pay me the full thing, I'm not going to put more than 8 hours a day minus weekends.

We've also avoided the large chain stores for tires. Luckily, we have a locally run and owned (since 1965) tire store that has reasonable prices, and they also fix flats. In addition, they sell some slightly worn tires, if you're short of money (years ago that was the case, and we were able to replace a few almost bald tires, with these ones--got us through the winter and spring, until we had the money to get new ones).

That's really the difference between (most) of the chain stores and a local company. We've found that the local ones are more willing to step in and help find alternative solutions. End result--we've been loyal customers of these guys for years now.

Yep, we too have also purchased used tires in the past, although not recently.
Was enough safe tread left to get us through...! :)

Hey people.. any of you have been to Nashville?

Turns out the cochelar convention (the implant I wear makes conventions every 2 years) is going to be there and I'm not so sure.
All their past ones have been either to Disneyland (Anaheim) or Disney World and Universal Studios (Orlando).

But.. Nashville?
And TripAdvisor isn't convincing me at all.
Almost all the attractions are either wine trips or escape room trills.

Ok well.. since my life has a new mini-drama every day.. Here’s the latest and greatest Mom FAIL-

We missed the Cub Scout Blue and Gold banquet last night.

T is soooooooooo mad at me. I deserve it. We were home for most of the day..I was just enjoying a day with nothing on the itinerary. All I was doing was cleaning, chatting here, looking up Disney stuff for the rest of my sister’s week.
T was playing with neighbor kid.

I somehow forgot to put in my calendar so I didn’t get an alert!! Didn’t even realize it til a mom texted me today and asked if I wanted her to drop off his badges, or if I want to pick them up.

Holy Cow. Major Fail. I feel HORRIBLE!!!!
Sympathy like, we've all been there

They were lucky. I recall years ago (and it may still be true) the during extra evening hours they'd let you ride something multiple times, if it wasn't crowded. I recall riding Splash 3 times in a row! That was fun. I really liked seeing the stars up in the sky at night, when the ride went outside at the top.
After the Jungle Book show the boys and I did EE 3 times but we swapped cars so each boy could ride in the first row.

I didnt even know that they chose people for this.. but apparently it’s awesome.. they received a walk up FP to all THREE characters!
That's how they get you hooked into going back;)

I was about 8 years ago. Great place if you like country music. It rained the whole weekend we were there so we didn’t get the best impression. There was a nice mall with an aquarium that we took the kids to. A few months later, that same year, the whole town flooded and that mall and the Grand Ole Opry were under water. Hmmm. Guess I was not very helpful. :hilarious:

I'm the wrong person to ask. Not Nashville but any time we've been in the state we couldn't wait to leave. We were in the Dollywood area and every store seemed to be a running Jeff Foxworthy joke, even the "nicer" places. Is there enough at the convention for you to enjoy if you can't find much else to do?

I am guessing they got a great rate for Nashville. One of the previous sites would have been better. Just my opinion.

I'd say it's half and half for the best memories. Planned/unplanned.
I think most of our first trips were mostly unplanned. They were a year after 9/11 and the parks weren’t that busy. When fp came along, that was ehen we really started planning. When we did the dining plan, that was the start of completely planned. Now we are down to half planned/half not as you suggested, and I like it better myself. Allows for adjustment and spontaneity.
