I've got yearly trips planned for a while, too.

2018- September
2019- September
2020- February (kid turns five at Magic Kingdom?)
2021- January

After that, we'll see if she's still into it. She'll probably be out of her princess stage by then, but maybe will have fun on rides. Who knows.

My god. I don't even know what I'm doing tomorrow....nevermind 2021

I was having trouble with my CD player in my car so I brought it to the dealer for warranty work. I have been getting all my regular servicing done by a garage very close to where I live and they do a good job. While I was there I asked them how much they charged for an oil change. With a straight face they told me $80.00. Just about twice what my present garage charges. It uses synthetic oil and they use a very good quality brand. He told me that VW demands a specific chemical make up synthetic oil and rattled off a bunch of numbers that I knew were bogus and meant nothing. I am going to continue using my garage where I can get the oil changed twice for that price. That is the reason why I never use the dealer for anything other then warranty stuff.
There are a whole range of specs for oils nowadays and those numbers/codes may well have been quite specific. Dependant on your age of vehicle if you have a major engine fault VW will check the oil before any warranty work and may well refuse if the right grade/addatives aren't found.
If the car is well past warranty then any good quality oil of the right grade will be ok. $80 for a dealer change actually seems pretty good to me.

Yeah,.... I'm very future focused. It's one of my biggest drivers. You could also call it goal oriented. I am always working a plan, working toward a goal, planning a vacation, planning a life step. Always moving, moving, moving. When i don't have short and long term plans in place, i feel lost and disorganized.

Like, i already have it on my calendar to register my daughter for kindergarten in February of 2020 :hilarious::hilarious: It's just my personality.

Sympathy like we just did a dealer oil change for 40 something and got a rebate check:joyfull:
Yes, I do not understand that. I have checked on other things like tire rotation and state inspections and they are penny for penny with others. I don't know if they absolutely require that allegedly special oil, but, I'm sure that others would be scared to go elsewhere because "it isn't the oil the VW recommends". I know better then that and will not be conned into paying more (sorta like Disney I guess, pay more and not get more). But we still do it.

I admire your traits. (My future planning goes as far as maybe the next 15 minutes or so . . . finishing up my cup of coffee and eating crackers . . . ;) ). After that I'll just wing it like I always do -- maybe I'll take over the world or something today. :D

That's a very commendable trait. However, the one problem with that is we cannot control outside, unexpected alterations to our plans. Life, at best, is unpredictable, so perhaps, wishfully planning deep into the future is ok, as long as one is prepared to revisit the plans often and sometimes start over. For example, what if just before your daughter goes to kindergarten, she decides to take up with a motorcycle type tricycle owner covered with tattoo's (we all know what that means). Plans up in smoke as the young'un rebels against authority. What then?

Me? One day at a time. I lived my life reactively instead of proactively. That might explain why I have had to go though life, just incredibly good looking and not a billionaire. If I had planned ahead I might have found myself some wealthy parents. To late now, I guess. I have gotten more into planning in my old age highlighted by the fact I went out and purchased a burial plot. That's thinking years and years and years and years ahead. ;):)

I think we'd be more surprised if she came home with someone clean cut and proper :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Preparing a Will was one of the most difficult things I’ve done, emotionally. It creeped me out beyond words. I have to plan for the logistics of what would happen if I die, but wow, it put me in a weird mood during the entire process.
I remember when my parents purchased their plots and caskets, my mom sent me a text with photos asked for my opinion on the ones the two she was deciding between. I yelled at her for even asking such a crazy thing!

Yes, the spinning move. I can’t even do it properly. My husband could, but I’ve even watched him lose control in games when using it. It’s a lot different to attemp while charging at a defender than standing and doing it as a drill.

It’s also one of the quickest ways to injure an ankle. I don’t let T attempt it now.. he tried it once during game play on my team.. wiped out, hurt his ankle, had to sit out for a bit.. but luckily didn’t sprain it. Not worth it to me. Looks cool, but there’s very few people who can do it effectively. I’m less about the ”fancy” and more about results.

I agree, but "fancy" can be fun, sometimes (especially if you have a 2-3 goal lead with only 10-15 mins. left to play in the game ;)).
There was a guy on my Town & Country league team that was also a gymnast...he could do a handspring/flip throw in that was really cool! With the momentum, and depending on throw in sideline position, he could get the ball right in front of the opponents goal like a corner kick...!!! He taught it to one of the girls on their team too who was also in gymnastics. With this video just tap "Watch on YouTube" on the bottom the second time (never seen that before :cyclops:)...obviously $$$-related...! ;)

Also, we had a bunch of guys on my varsity HS team originally from Mexico. They would use this move from time to time...especially in the open field against only one defender...

They ran around the defender and (usually) successfully had the ball land at their feet, and move on down the field towards the opponents goal...!!!
Definitely fancy-fun soccer/football stuff...!!!!!!! :joyfull:;):)

Not sure why, but this reminded me (not about lollipops) but of spiked eggnog.

At one point, I had a hairdresser who used to bring booze, for the holidays, into her salon. So I went in one Saturday for a "trim" and apparently, it was spiked eggnog day, and she made it herself . . :cautious::) She gave me a full glass of this (it was delicious, by the way) and I drank it down, while she was cutting my hair.

I have this thing about long bangs, but she said my eyes would really sparkle, if I had shorter bangs. Feeling all relaxed from the eggnog, and in a festive holiday mood, I said, "O.k., cut them a little bit shorter."

Big mistake--I ended up looking like Mamie Eisenhower! :jawdrop: :hilarious:

My sister started doing the front flip throw ins from 2nd grade all the way thru college. It was so neat to watch. The ball was like a bullet out of her hands. I could never do it, not tried.lol

Fancy tricks are definitely useful when done correctly, but (most) 7 year olds just don’t have the skill to pull off the Maradona successfully while in a game. I see many try, and I have seen a couple of them be successful, but most of the time they end up losing the ball or, in my son’s case, falling because landed on the ball too hard while running which took him off balance once he went to turn in the air. It’s a fun move.,fun to practice, but I’ll leave it for those who are more skilled. I told kiddo that he can use it once he’s mastered all of the other “tricks”.
T has two kids from Mexico on his team.. they just moved to the US recently, one is a 6 year old and is better than all of the 7 year olds. His coach is also from Mexico and played professionally there.. it’s really neat to watch him do demonstrations of whatever skills the team is learning!

T lives practing the ‘around the world’ but I don’t see him using it in game play anytime soon.. some of that stuff is better for technical training but not in a game...at least not right now. He’d love to do the rainbow as well! I say let’s master some other moves first.
