I pray it is over...even our news was still reporting on the Austin Police tweets this morning saying to pay attention to packages....etc. It is great that the PD is out ahead of what 'could be' still out there...not knowing if the yahoo shipped anything else. Lets pray not but a heads up warning by the PD not to let the guard down quite yet. Kudos to them.

Thanks, again. Us too.
Yea, the authorities, both local and otherwise, did an amazing job. Kudos to all of them, indeed.
We're hearing all the devices have been accounted for, but, ultimately, ya' just never know.
I heard on the radio, on my way home from the office this evening, that the guy recorded about a 20-ish minute video on his phone that they found (not sure how the phone wasn't destroyed when he blew himself up?). Apparently, he knew they were onto him and it wasn't going to be long before they cornered him. I have yet to see the video/hear the audio, but, it's apparently just sheer nutsoville...
He described each device in detail, and apparently, he said there was no rhyme or reason, he just wanted to kill people (supposedly, he was also on some form of social media under the alias of Kelly Killmore).
He said he should feel bad, but, didn't, and apparently also said he wanted to end it all by blowing himself up inside a crowded McDonalds.
There is also talk about the authorities finding a laptop at his house that may have much more video footage of his entire treachery.
He supposedly also said he knew he was a psychopath...
Makes it all even more scary that there may be more and more freaks like this out there in the future.
My brain just cannot even come close to computing this level of insanity. Luckily, and fortunately, life goes on for most of the rest of us, but we're all still a bit numb.
Just...WTFH...?!?!?!?!

I have a feeling we are fairly close to one another - I'm about 10 miles due south of Hanover, PA.

I totally get the mess that year round schooling would cause when it is first implemented, as with any large change to culture. Every new educational study that comes out finds that brain development and education is seriously hindered by any more than 15-20 days break in learning. But after a quarter century working in public education, I know all too well that the main focus is rarely on what would be best for actual learning!

Well said. :inlove:

Good Morning! Sun is out, with an expected high of 48. You know, what the kids here think of as shorts and a t-shirt weather. Snow predictions keep fluctuating. Just looked. 4-8? I should have known. The boys are supposed to fly back in to town Saturday. Hope it is all over and plowed by then.

It be a lot of rain but I am hoping with the day time temps predicted for Friday and Saturday that if it is snow it just melts fast. My town doesn't have such a good track record of plowing/weekends. We had so many various storms this winter I think a lot of public works departments are 'over' winter too. :cautious:

It was nice today though going out without my face freezing, it has been so windy this week.

Ok Help Needed from Parents of Little Girls! Please.

My sister leaves in 3 weeks for Disney.. I’m planning her trip. Any “must do’s” for little girls that I don’t know about?

They also purchased the DDP.. kid’s ages are 3&4.. any recommendations on good use of snack credits?
Jedi Training...whoops, that's just me. 😁

Ugh. That is hard not knowing anything about the little girls. My DD wasn't ever a Princess and never really went for the girly things, like @StarWarsGirl indicated sometimes little girls like the general offerings or going onstage with the pirates over meeting Princesses. We'd go to the parks around 10am, never rope dropped but we rarely went back to the resort during the day, we'd almost always close the parks. My kids started in the parks when they were 2 months old and 14 months old. Around the New FLE there are cupcakes for Princesses.

I'd send them into places like the Circus Tent, so many very Disney treats to pick from. Gastons for a Cinnamon Roll (quick breakfast for a snack credit) Sleepy Hallow has a couple of little waffles with toppings like strawberries and whipped cream and also hand made ice cream sandwiches. (great place to duck under if there is rain) Sweet Spells has the Carrot Cake Cookie (I want right now)Karamell Epcot WS has the best popcorn and snacks that they can pick out themselves, The dessert case in Seasons is another place to rest, cool off and they can pick out some fabulous desserts, AK has a cart that hand scoops ice cream sandwiches also on cookies, their kiosks there are my favorite for savory over sweet snacks. I'm a fan of their egg rolls. If they go to Springs so much is so good but there is also Goofy's Candy Co there. Don't forget to have them look in the bakery case window at their resort, most resorts have a specialty. If you don't mind me asking which resort?

If I remember correctly, Scar actually had a real name like MUFASA.

But got the nickname SCAR after he got hurt.

but yeah, his name is worse..

The Disney novel series The Lion King: Six New Adventures, which was released in 2007, covers some of the back story of the 1994 film The Lion King [1]. In the first book, A Tale of Two Brothers, Scar's original name is revealed to be Taka, which means "dirt,", "trash," or "want" or 'waste' in Swahili.

Not lucky, Infuriating.

We aren’t going in 2018.. and they finally send me a 30%??? Did they read my posts and do this to tempt me?! ;)
I’ve actually looked at the school calendar and message someone about fall soccer start dates..trying to figure out if I can fit a trip in. Im not though.. I have to pretend that I didn’t see the email.

...but 30%.....🤬🤬🤬🤬
You cant use that 30% to pay in advance for next year's?

Thanks! I hate planning my own Disney trips.. crazy that I’m planning someone else’s.. but my sister has no desire, I still don’t think she’s logged on to look at the specific parks. Her words- “Can you please make me a spreadsheet? Then we’ll have a meeting and we’ll go over everything then.” Lol.
We did her dining and FPs at 60 days.. the dining a few days before.

Only tv shows that niece watches is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Masha and the Bear.. she LOVES Minnie, Moana (who I know doesn’t meet), Ariel, Elsa, and just now starting to become a Belle fan.

The reason for the 2 BOG reservations is I found a 8am res on their last day.. thought it may benefit them to be in Fantasyland when the park opens.. do you think it’s a waste?

Breakfast at BOG is pretty unique. Did you look at the childrens menu? If they like it BOG isn't a waste.

For Children Ages 3-9
Chip's Cereal with Fresh Fruit

Scrambled Eggs de Maurice - Scrambled eggs with Applewood Bacon and fresh fruit

Fifi's French Toast - brioche bread served with a side of fresh fruit

Mickey Check Meals
Crepes de Cogsworth - Crepes stuffed with Yogurt, fresh berries, and wildberry foam

Philippe's Toasty Oats - Steel-cut Oatmeal served with Golden Raisins and Sugar

Why would they skip Animal Kingdom when technically its Hollywood Studios the "almost empty yet paying full" park?

3 years old and 4 are difficult not knowing much about the kids. Mine did just about everything. Like @dryerlintfan DD she didn't like anything that was 'dark' but learned to love the pool while they were at WDW. Never know. My kids were dare devils, they went on just about everything they could neither cared about characters or Princesses at that age but my DS did have a love of the Teenage Turtles back in the day at 4 years old. At the time it was a short show at the studios followed by a pop up meet and greet with the show characters.

Her DD loved princesses at 3 years old my DD hated being approached by Princesses or Characters. Flip out but at 4 years old she rode the wildest of attractions. Kids are all so different at that age. The Studios while a quarter of a park right now still has Muppets, the Disney TV show (whatever it is called) Little Mermaid, Beast show, Fantasmic. Toy will be hours wait likely as in 3 weeks will be down to one track as of April 9th so that would be rough on a 3-4 year old. AK is hard for a 3-4 year old. Some kids freak at Bug, mine didn't but it happens. Nemo might be over little kids heads, Dino is rough, can't do Everest, Kali makes some kids cry that small, it is an OK park to show the critters to tiny ones but so can be the Studios at the same time. When they go in 3 weeks 3 of 4 rides at the studios will be questionable to ride and Toy with only one track will have very long lines, likely hours, hard on adults worse for wee ones.

I'm getting ready for a Pup. Hope you will be soon.

I am still trying to figure out what I want next. But I saw a Chocolate lab coming out of PETCO, the lady was older and the Pup was so well behaved. He sat down and enjoyed me petting him and telling him what a good boy he was, soaking it all up. He was a Big Boy with a Block Head. I asked how old he was....8 months. That one was going to be at least as Big as Walt. I was In Love.
THNX it's more they guys than me. My dh isn't ready and the boys want a cat. I would totally jump in but I honestly don't know if I have the time to take care of a puppy all be myself with our different schedules.

THNX sometimes I forget kids menus exist:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm::facepalm: James hasn't eaten off one since he was maybe 7 and even then not all the time.:cautious: Which reminds me why did they ever do away with the hidden Mickey plates for kids we loved them and still have a couple. I put a couple of pics from a few trips in them and put them away for when he's older.
