Let me tell you about my Saturday night. Got a phone call on the house phone came up POLICE with a far south area code. Figured it was a scam call, so didn't rush to answer. It was an officer wanting to ask my DH a few questions. Which was weird. A town, in IL, but he had never been there. DH called the station directly, and he is now a star witness. The police were called on a domestic violence case, and they asked the guy for his license. He gave them a license, with his picture, but all of DH's info. We knew his identity had been stolen, and that they also had his social security number. Always figured it had been part of a bigger thing. Not some guy 50 miles or so south of us. Had some credit cards, too. Since DH has a credit freeze, not sure how the guy managed to get them.

Officer sent an email with the fake ID yesterday to DH. Um, yeah, not even close to looking like DH.

That’s crazy! Sounds like the guy is an all around winner. Domestic violence..identity theft.. wow. Hopefully he goes away for a long time.

even cheaper if you stay in the hotels right outside property but by the frontdoor of Universal.

They were like.. 60 USD a day..
and had hourly complimentary buses to Universal.
And many of them still do not charge for parking a car. There is a ton of money to be saved by doing just that. A quick online research opens up a whole world of fun mouse-less eating and reasonably inexpensive sleep. This is one area that I truly wish Disney would fail at. Just enough to send a message that there are options and how about a little less profit and a little more concern over their Walt's coattails fan base. There are a few of us left that still know who Walt Disney was, but, it won't be long before that memory is no longer around.

After reading all about fees and such from now on it's SOG(5 per night for parking runs under large rock), a condo(if the boys are with us) or UNI. I have had it!
If you or your husband is a vet you can stay at SOG for 155 per night in January or september

$159 a night now, and i believe $7 a night for parking. At least that's what I'm seeing on their site for 2019

166 per night for a deluxe on the monorail. Note to self find even bigger rock to hide under

Yeah, this whole conversation has made me ever so grateful for the opportunity to stay at SOG.... I have an airline credit to burn so i was thinking of taking the nugget back to Disney in January while my husband is at a conference, but three trips in one calendar year might be excessive for us. Still, with airline credits and annual passes, we'd only need to pay for the resort and food.....

I hope you have today off. Stay safe

Nope--the boss might grant one day off, but not two! Left very early this AM and it wasn't too bad--90 minutes to get in. (Last storm, it was 2 hours.)

But don't worry about me--worry about my hubs. Granted, he's a guy, and sometimes guys do crazy stuff. ;)

I called him from work around 11:00 this morning. He was finishing up a call to his friend on his cell phone, when he picked up my call on the (portable) house phone (sometimes he carries around the portable with him as well). Jack was barking his brains out in the background. So he's talking to his friend, me, and the dog is barking. :cautious:

Me: "Why is Jack barking?"
Hubs: "Oh he's mad because I crawled out his favorite staring window, and then he jumped out after me, so I had to push him back inside."
Me: "What the heck?!" o_O
Hubs: "Wait a minute, I'm sliding . . . "
Me: "What do you mean you're sliding--are you out on the slippery roof in the snow--all ALONE?!" :jawdrop:
Hubs: "Well, not really--Jim is on the other line, and you're on this line, and Jack is here."
Me: "Please come inside--I don't care if the roof gets shovelled! Call the landlord instead!" :banghead:

What surprising is how he defied the odds many times, not only in his findings, but also in his resilience. He was given bare years after his diagnosis, yet he managed to stay alive 50 years more.

Some of us at work were discussing him today. I said that for someone with so many medical afflictions, he led a richer life than most people. He was truly an amazing man.
