Some will never get it.
I could go on and on about all the time and treasure we and our children have spent over the years giving back to our community, but, there is no need to, and certainly not for the sake of demeaning others, as to make ourselves look superior.
Over the last coupla' days, we have been pretty much referred to as food-peddling morons by another member here. And, this same member, who uses the word "twit" for so many others, actually, seems to be the biggest twit here.
Why this person feels this is something they need to continue on our "family" thread, I have no clue. True hypocrisy...this person wonders why others have no filter, yet they have no filter either...?!?!?!
Thinly veiled condescension is no filter...it's just sad.
Have I told you how much I like you! I think you could use this meme right now.

My guess is it's probably a misunderstanding with (whatever member) you're referring to. That's the problem with posts at times--you can't see or hear the person, and sometimes things get misinterpreted.

What I can say is that you and your family have given so much back to your community. You've shared many good posts about all the good efforts down through the years, and I believe that every member on here can easily see that, and respect you and your family for your generosity.
There's no misunderstanding. The "holier than thou" will forever be stirring the pot. Not the first time, won't be the last.

So a big challenge is coming up again at the Walt Disney World next week on December 6. 47 rides between the four parks in one operational day at the parks. Some do it in a group others on their own trying to strategically map out where to start and where to end and how many times to hop between the parks multiple times. I've followed a few of the attempts. This time there is 15 people/groups so it should be fun. From dawn to late night you get to see every park, every group on every ride. This year it is 47 'cause some new opened and some closed. The event can only take place while all attractions are up and running so the event is never challenged while refurbs are going on. Hall of Presidents doesn't count as it is not a ride beyond it just falling off the grid. Splash came back up for a month and a half before it goes down again so many teams are anxious. Two tried last week and failed coming in around the lower 40 rides ridden.
So close. Dwarf going down constantly never helpful.

It can be followed on Facebook or Twitter. I find twitter easier to follow this event as the contestants are required to submit a photo via twitter on each ride.

First world problem averted. Toys R Us near dh’s office had the Nintendo in stock. Had 6 left. He had some time and was able to snag one at the very nice retail and not double marked up on Ebay price. Hooray!! :)I was then able to get 20% back on the Lego purchased through ebay. Funny thing was the seller was actuallyTarget.:D So now my shopping is done. The stress is now over and done with for this year.:)
I had to call Toysrus about a shipment and they have a recording about the Nintendo and two other hot toys basically saying "we're trying to keep them in stock so don't call to ask or complain". It must be old to the phone operators to keep answering for something they have no control over.

And on a more pleasant note here is my DD apartment today as she decorated for the Holidays.

Those are adorable little Christmas trees.:) The ones on top of the entertainment center. Bet I can get DD16 to make those for me. Have to keep 'em busy.:D;):hilarious:
This made me chuckle, because no 7 AM and done for me yesterday. :p The reason was that yesterday was a 15 hour day for me, due to extended meetings at work. Left home at 6 AM and got home at 8 PM (12 hours work; 3 hours commute) This was due to an unusual situation that came up at work. (Plus I've had a cold for a week now, so that doesn't help.)

Today should be a more normal day. :)
Glad you are better today. :)Nothing like some good sleep to help you feel better. That and a strong dose of Vitamin C. :):)

That's great that they got to see it. Is there not a schedule somewhere so you know when each class would get to see it? I know when we were there, there were signs that counted down..."Next eruption in: --- minutes". I don't remember how often it erupts, but I know it's regular, so they can tell you when it's going to blow. I didn't know they had a live stream! Do you have a link? My kids would love it!

I think there was an estimated time at the bottom. I hope the link works

@DisneyBound2017 , got an email from shop Disney. They have some princess nightgowns on sale for $10 and plush also for $10. I would purchase items on sale from Disney Store(before it changed names), and surprise the kids in the room with the new Disney gifts. This made them super excited, and saved us money when it came to souvenirs.

Thank you so much for thinking of me!! She won't wear those kind right now (although we have almost all of the ones the Disney Store offers). Hopefully she'll come back to them but right now she'll only wear the princess nightgowns that look like princess dresses, like this:

You said you take the train into Chicago, right? How long of a train ride is that? We went to visit my mom's family for Christmas one year and we took the train into Chicago and went and saw the decorations in the Marshall Fields windows, etc....it was so neat. And when we went to bury my mom's ashes, we took the train in to go visit museums, since my husband had never been there. There is no train from where the family lives, so we had to drive to Crystal Lake and then I want to say it was an hour and a half ride or so. Very exciting for Wyomingites who hadn't really ever ridden on a train before.

If we take the train into the city from his sisters the most convenient spot is from midway. The train can be an interesting experience.

Yep, nothin' but the real thing when it comes to s'mores...!!! :hungry:
Our DDs sold GS cookies for a combined decade. They didn't have a s'mores offering back then. Oh, the cookie booth momories...! ;)
Oldest DD once sold over 1500 boxes, youngest DD over 1200.
Payed for camp, and then some, every summer...! :)
My favorite are Samoas. We don't know anyone in Girl Scouts so I buy when I see them set up outside the local Walmart. With four of us in 4-H for many, many years my dad couldn't whip out his checkbook and buy the lot of what we were selling. Setting up a table at a store or festival taught us social interaction with the public, teamwork and a bit about commerce. It also gave us some good memories we still laugh about now.

I'm on the fence, too, though we did have one creepy experience when DD was 2. It was like 9pm and she was supposed to be in bed and she had this toy kitchen and when you turned the knobs on the stove, they clicked. I could hear her turning the knobs even though she was supposed to be in bed. I whispered to DH that I could hear her. Just as I said that, she cried out and I could hear her run back to her bed. There's NO way she could have heard me because we were in our room, across the hall and her bedroom door was closed and I was whispering. So I went in to check on her and she said "The Lady" scared her. I asked what lady and she said there was a lady standing by her dresser. She had long brown hair and was wearing a brown dress and pants under the dress, and the lady told her she was supposed to be sleeping, not playing. So I told her that the lady was right...she WAS supposed to be sleeping, but it wasn't very kind of the lady to scare her and I told the lady that I appreciated that she wanted DD to follow the rules, I would handle it from now on, thank you. Nothing ever happened again. And my best friend said when her daughter was 2 or 3, she wanted to leave a bag of clothes for the little girl who always came at night, because the girl always wore the same clothes and she thought the little girl must not have any others. Who knows if it's just imaginations or if it's real.
I've told this before but when my daughter was little but still babbling she would sleep with me at times. One night the tv popped on by itself and she sat up and said clear as day "they're here" :jawdrop: then laid back and went to sleep. I never grabbed the remote faster to turn it off. The next day she was back to momma, dada, baba. I'll never forget that because it scared the bejabbers out of me. Then as a toddler she would tell about the man in the other room or sitting next to me and would ask about the man in the picture who was my dad that passed right before I got pregnant.

The other day my mom was visiting to watch the OSU game. We were eating ice cream and my daughter was staring into the kitchen. My mom asked what was wrong and if she didn't like her treat. My daughter said she's just looking at the orb. My mom's eyes got big but my daughter just shrugged. Funny different experiences our kids have.

The first letter to Santa that I remember putting together was three pages long. Covered just about everything in the Sears Catalog. I was about 4 or 5 at the time and I remember clearly thinking that if I put a lot of things on the list I would not get them all, but, I might get more then if I just made a small list.

I was an only child at the time, and quite lovable not to mention cute as a button. As it turned out I got everything on my list and more from Aunts, Uncles and Grand Parents. Good Times! A year or so later my sister was born and that gravy train came to a screeching halt. Siblings ruined my life!
Maybe Santa thought a sister was on your list. :joyfull:

Yep, my MIL and I get along well.
Unfortunately, MIL and FIL divorced about a year before DWifey and I were married. He estranged himself from the family. We saw him again only once after that before he passed about 16 or so years ago. Sad stuff.
Our kiddos are very happy to still have her and my folks in their lives though, as so many their age don't even have that. :(
We're all very thankful...!!! :)
My ex-MIL gets along better with me than her own son. :D I'm good with that.
