Some will never get it.
I could go on and on about all the time and treasure we and our children have spent over the years giving back to our community, but, there is no need to, and certainly not for the sake of demeaning others, as to make ourselves look superior.
Over the last coupla' days, we have been pretty much referred to as food-peddling morons by another member here. And, this same member, who uses the word "twit" for so many others, actually, seems to be the biggest twit here.
Why this person feels this is something they need to continue on our "family" thread, I have no clue. True hypocrisy...this person wonders why others have no filter, yet they have no filter either...?!?!?!
Thinly veiled condescension is no filter...it's just sad.

So a big challenge is coming up again at the Walt Disney World next week on December 6. 47 rides between the four parks in one operational day at the parks. Some do it in a group others on their own trying to strategically map out where to start and where to end and how many times to hop between the parks multiple times. I've followed a few of the attempts. This time there is 15 people/groups so it should be fun. From dawn to late night you get to see every park, every group on every ride. This year it is 47 'cause some new opened and some closed. The event can only take place while all attractions are up and running so the event is never challenged while refurbs are going on. Hall of Presidents doesn't count as it is not a ride beyond it just falling off the grid. Splash came back up for a month and a half before it goes down again so many teams are anxious. Two tried last week and failed coming in around the lower 40 rides ridden.
So close. Dwarf going down constantly never helpful.

It can be followed on Facebook or Twitter. I find twitter easier to follow this event as the contestants are required to submit a photo via twitter on each ride.

I stopped at Walgreens to buy a string of lights for my Christmas tree, and they were buy one, get 1/2 off. I also picked up some cute learning toys for my great neice's little boy. They were buy 2 get the third one free. My visit to Walgreen's proceeded my trip to the eye doctor. He scheduled my next eye doctor appointment for the day after my cardiologist visit. Hopefully I will get the AOK for my 2nd cataract procedure by then. It will be nice to have that all done and behind me.

Overall how is the vision now out of the 'fixed' eye?

Good to know about the Disneyland outlet. We usually stop at the outlet in the Wisconsin Dells on the way down. It is a good place to get out and stretch our legs and see some Disney stuff.

I must admit we haven't explored that area too much. When we are down there our time is either spent at the sister's house or downtown. We have spent some time at the Woodfield Mall too.

Aurora Outlet is close to that area. It is new, mostly covered with heat lamps in the overhangs in the winter. Just don't go on bitter cold days.
The Disney Outlet stocks over runs of Disneyland only, never have seen WDW. It is a large store and actually had 'adult' items along with mugs and dishes etc. Last trip being fall we bought beachtowels.

Note: the outlet in Gurnee IL right after you cross the border from Wisconsin also is Disneyland surplus.

So I know I've been a bit of a downer lately complaining about my in-laws so I thought I would share a cute work story with you.

If you remember (or not that is fine too) I teach 7, 8 & 9th grade science (along with a section of 7th grade social studies). Anyway, my 7th graders are finishing their Geology unit and we have been studying the water cycle, ground water, and geysers. So for the last 5-6 class periods we've had I put on the live stream through the National Park service of Old Faithful in Yellowstone. Every time we have missed seeing it's eruption. On Tuesday the first period of 7th grade science I have was able to see the eruption but it was snowy so the view wasn't the best but the kids still thought it was cool. The next section came in and I had the live stream on and broke the news that the last class got to see it so they probably wouldn't get to see it today, they were bummed but hopeful.

Well I didn't realize how much they wanted to see it. So again today I put on the Old Faithful live stream for that last bunch of 7th graders. I had it on for when they entered the classroom and I went into hall to supervise that area. All of a sudden I hear a large ruckus in the classroom and see a kid run out and tell another kid in the class to come quick and see it. All the while I'm still hearing a lot of noise, so I'm thinking some kids were fighting or something. Why else would there be so much excitement!?! So I rush into the room ready to yell at them but nope....20 some kids are gathered at the Smart Board in the front of the room cheering and jumping up and down because Old Faithful was erupting!!! What a bunch of little nerds!!:joyfull::bookworm: It made me smile and laugh. So we watched the rest of it before starting class. I was glad that the weather was clear and they were able to see such a good eruption of the geyser especially since they were that excited about it. Now I think I'm going to do some searching for some other live streams that they might enjoy seeing, it is a nice way for them to enter the room.

Oh I forgot the group today asked me if the other class got to see as clear a view as they got and I told them no. And one kid said, "we got the better view because we are better kids." That also made me chuckle.

What a great day. Tech in the classroom is awesome. Anything that gets them excited about learning especially those middle school years. And so not the same but you just made me smile thinking of the 'fake' geyser that Disney did so well at the Wilderness Lodge.
We stopped to watch her Pop so many times at night along the lake. Brought back a good fall last trip memory.

I had no idea there was such a thing as a Disneyland Outlet. I only just new of Disney Store outlets, or the Disney World outlet in Orlando. And even weirder that it is in Wisconsin.

The outlets I've been to in Illinois are all Disneyland outlets. We rarely get to it but I find so much in the Orlando Mall Outlet for WDW.
My $2 themed magic bands I prize.

After I pinged it. I went back to reinstalling the software, and it worked!!!! It just printed everything that I tried to print earlier. Thank you!!!!!So appreciate the help!!!!!:):):):):):):):):):)

Woot!

Can't tell you how many tech issues I've had over the years that have been solved here.

I am forever grateful for the conflicts my system had with 'ads' that made it almost impossible here. While the suggestion came with a mere $5 a month price tag it resolved all of my problems with the 'ads' without having to use an 'ad' blocker that the owner frowns upon for website survival reasons. Admittedly I know little about tech and a push in the right direction is always appreciated. Plus I really have enjoyed the Premium Members Lounge as time allows.

Nope ... We are not doing adult presents this year in either side of the family. As for the two of us our present this year is tickets to a production of "wizard of Oz" by the same theater group we watched in the summer (romeo and Juliet)
Here is a teaser of what we saw

No tree or decorations going up this year either

Years ago we disbanded adult presents on my inlaw side of the family though stocking gifts remained intact. My MIL handmade every sock and while she wanted adult gifts to go bye bye she didn't want her stockings to not get hung. They are beautiful.

My family still exchanges gifts but we tend to look for a single gift that is oddly special vs expensive. This year my Sis will get the Alice in Wonderland mug from WDW. The 10/6 on the Mad Hatters mug a nod to her October 6th Birthday. So they are more quirky but thoughtful gifts. My Mom now 83 who drifts due to age will get a cute but kinda elaborate Tweetie Bird movement lawn stake ornament. She will relate. It is kinda sad that she has lost her filter, more difficult at the holidays but she will love her Tweetie. Even as a kid my Mom had this thing for Tweetie Bird and as of late anything Tweetie is hard to come by. So this is how my family exchanges adult gifts at Christmas. Odd but appreciated.

I've never thought of you as a downer at all! We all have our struggles in life and I'm glad in your case it's mostly just the trips to visit relatives. Please continue to share the good and the bad with our happy little Disney family xoxo PS go geeks
