EPCOT Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

I'm confused what's going on with Epcot. One on hand you have Guardians going in, and on the other hand you have cool Epcot Center-esque projects like the M:S restaurant along with potential refreshes of the Land and the Seas. Is this a case of conflicting interests, or of management appeasing the masses as they insert their beloved IPs?

The last remodel of the interior of the land completely diminished the specialness of the interior and made it look like a shopping mall food court....I think the thought was to look like a futuristic airport, but it doesn't really come off...they should go back to a more organic approach and give The Land Pavilion a theme appropriate makeover... People LOVE themed environments... a shopping mall food court is not a themed environment....

Agree, and of course they ripped out what was a beautiful fountain. The worse of it was shoehorning in soarin with the escalators on wrong sides and people trying to go up and down stairs as people come up off the escalator colliding...., I would be shocked if an accident has not already happened up there because of that, horrible lay out for it for that amount of insane traffic. Soarin should have had its own entrance exits between imagination and the land. But no that would have cost too much and made more sense.

The entrance could have gone right where the original GMR attraction was to be...And made it look more like an Airline Terminal...a "If you had wings 2.0" if you will..

Agreed. I wouldn't go with airline terminal specifically, but an aviation themed area (Think Smithsonian Air and Space) museum was a huge missed opportunity, especially considering the actual Soarin' building is closer to JII than The Land

With the news of widespread adoption of electric vehicles by car manufacturers, 5g deployment, robotic farming, fracking, reusable rockets etc, and the rapidly increasing speed of technological advances, it is now clearer than ever that the conditions in place that inspired Future World in 1982 no longer exist. Add global trade and especially competition and the original FW business model is beyond obsolete.

Except possibly in a retro nostalgia sort of way. Imagineering definitely has quite a challenge. Which is when they excel.

Continuing to repeat this doesn't make it true.
