Well, I don't HATE it like DD does, but I'm definitely not a fan. I have no Star Wars merchandise, I haven't seen the latest movies and am not particularly bothered if I don't. I guess I'm just indifferent, whereas I'm a Harry Potter fanatic. I have a couple shirts, wands, a time turner necklace, I've made snitch earrings, I've been to WWoHP at Universal when it first opened, I've been to the Studio tour in London, walked all over London to see HP related things, I went to the exhibition when it came to the Netherlands...I only know 1 person who is as fanatic about star wars as I am about HP, and she's 12 years old and a tom boy. And her whole family are also HP fanatics. But I remember looking at the shop at HS last year, waiting for DH and DS to come off of one of the Star Wars things...and there were zero girls. I know there ARE girls who are fans, but I think they are far outnumbered by boys.
I never cared about Star Wars I am indifferent to it be expanded. Happy for those who love. Will take masses away from the few remaining attractions I love

I'm a fan of what Uni Florida did with Harry. Even their rocks and "town" surpassed any thing I saw Disney imagineers on that grand of a level. Their screens on the train transport you, simple but an awesome transition. Their main forced mountain perspective is awesome. That queue is awesome. I've never experienced anything similar to the moving benches. The creativity is boundless in harry land. I skipped a coaster my kids loved. Knew I'd feel bluck. But it was fine as their entertainment was spot on. I can take or leave the harry films and books but Harryland is awesome.

My last trip was difficult with my sore foot. Now that I am going to be 70, I am not sure how many trips I am going to be able to manage. I guess the next one will tell the story. I don't have foot pain, but the left knee gives me trouble when I walk too long. The 4 hour plane trip to California is not my favorite thing to do, especially dealing with security, and all that walking at the airports. At least DL has less walking than WDW does. Maybe it is a good thing for me that I ended up solo. Don't have to try and keep up with Annette and her daughter, who run rather than walk at the parks. I also will never rent a scooter, and a wheelchair is out of the question. I like being in charge when I am at Disney, whether it is DL, or WDW. Like you said, time will tell.
I'd rent a scooter in a heart beat to continue to enjoy the parks. Now into my AARP years if something fails I want to adapt

I've never heard either theory, but here's what I don't get...I hear this about beer all the time: "It's an acquired taste." Ok...but WHY, if it tastes nasty the first time, WHY would you bother trying to acquire the taste? I drink neither beer nor coffee. No desire to keep putting the stuff in my mouth until it doesn't gag me anymore.
Right there with ya sister friend

For me I developed a taste for beer in college. It was cheap and often for me (a girl) free in bars, and in college I took what was free or cheap. So that is what I made myself drink. As I drank more I learned to like it. As I have aged, my beers have become more sophisticated. I like the deeper flavors and different styles of brewing. I have a hard time drinking Miller Lite or Coors light stuff anymore because it doesn't have any depth of flavor. Now if I could only do the same with broccoli.

Oh my, you know how much I LUVS me some beer!!! :hungry:
But, I also LUVS me some broccoli...!!!!! :joyfull: :hungry: :)

It never occurred to me that the early September park hours would be as short as they are. The Disneyland calendar is only showing up to September the 5th. My first day in the park is the 4th, and the last day is the 9th. I guess I have two chances to see Fantasmic, and maybe more to see WOC. No Haunted Mansion. I guess no night time Disneyland parade. I don't mind the shortened hours, I don't have to get up quite so early. Fireworks are fun, but not a must do anymore for me. I'm looking forward to seeing the new configuration of the railroad, and I do have one Magic Morning that begins at 9 a.m. My trips is about 6 weeks away, so I will look at the final schedule of the hours in a week or two, and make some tentative plans for myself.

^^^ This. Not to mention, CM's are PAID to PRETEND to be happy all the time. There's a difference.

Meh. Paid very poorly and expected to be happy all the time while supervised by someone who earns $1 more an hour then they do. I get it. When a Mc'Ds employee earns far and above more than many we encounter at Disney our expectations for CMs are executive level expectations.
