IMO, the gondolas are a huge mistake. How many people will they carry? How will they be more efficient than the monorails? How may gondolas will operate on a single cable, etc.

Monorail vs Gondola, I'd have to say the monorail would win for transporting more people in a timely manner. But we'll see as things progress.

You left out - slow. You can get door-to-door much faster on a monorail then you will be able to on a gondola. I know everyone's excited about them, I just think the monorail is a lot more efficient when comparing the two.

Nothing fell off, it was obviously ripped off by something. Maintenance has nothing to do with an outside influence. Something on the beam could have come loose and stuck out further than it should have. At any speed, this could easily rip off this EASILY REPLACEABLE part of the train. Stop exaggerating everything.

A thread on the size of a free cup of water had what like 100 pages or something.. I think your request to stop is probably a pipe dream, no matter how correct you are.

Uh, if round-the-clock maintenance was actually performed then why shouldn't they be? Not too much to ask that people do their jobs, is it? Not saying that things don't break down but when parts fly off a vehicle for no apparent reason then obviously someone missed a maintenance detail.

Looking at the photo of the guy who was lucky enough not to get hit that is a very heavy duty piece of metal and ripped fiberglass. I'm guessing it's the bus bar connect? Whatever it is it's no joke or light piece of equipment to be flung from the sky. Yikes!

Also, with the demand on the equipment, and for the parks to have extended hours and such, that leaves very little down time to do anything. They're only human. Tell me you haven't been held to a deadline at your job?

I don't know if I'd want to be holding it really. Especially if he saw it come off the monorail. It could've been something that wasn't smoking but still very hot. Not exactly the smartest move, but hey, everyone pushes the "Try Me" button now, don't they, lol.

Actually I never said that. Go back and read my very first post on this thread that you attacked. I said "I fear." The new gondola will be built in the Lightning Capital of the U.S. That fact alone nearly means something is bound to happen.

Right - but there is no reason to 'fear' such a thing. How many times has the monorail been struck? Or the Castle? Or SSE? Nowhere near as much as you'd think.

Also, I enjoy the 'lightning capital of the US' spew that the two of you enjoy. I guess the truth doesn't have the same ring to it:

Oooo.... 3 times? Say it again... Wait, it'll come anyway without asking. We all know Disney maintenance is round the clock. That's why there's different monorails out too
