The very first model I ever built as a young kiddo was the custom Red Baron T-bucket...!!!
Many more custom and classic car models (lawn mowing money ) came after that, as well as many WWII-era ships, planes, tanks, etc. I used to love having several of those planes hanging from my bedroom ceiling.
Anyway, again, very cool about your cousins hotrod shop...!!!

This cousin had a hot rod frame in his garage for...DECADES. He had been working on it since high school, but he kind of stopped working on it...he is a recovering alcoholic and he's been sober for probably 20 years now, but when he was drinking he lost interest in his hobby. When he sobered up, he started working on the car again and now he has his own business. One of his son's went to college in Wyoming because there's a school there that specializes in that, so he was working with his dad for a while after that. I love the look of old cars and I think they are amazing, but I really know nothing about any of them. They look SO cool though!!

We had a really long, but nice weekend. It was my MIL's birthday yesterday, so we helped out with serving and I made chilli, which Dutch people apparently not familiar with, but love. Today was the Adopt a Lamb day at this nature park. You can pay 2 euros to pet and cuddle the sheep, or you can adopt one for 20 euros and go visit it a few times before they move them to the fields for the summer. So we went and adopted a lamb and DS named it Lars. DS LOVES sheep...it's his favorite animal and he about melts when he sees sheep. So the opportunity to not only see them, but to pet and maybe hold one is amazing for him. So worth the 20 bucks to see how happy he is.

I went back and read more about the car.
It's actually a 1918 Dodge Roadster with a slant six, which is very cool and most unusual...most T-buckets are, of course, Ford Model T's (or fiberglass replica bodies) with an old Ford Flathead V-8, or a more modern V-8 engine.
As the verbiage on the website says, that makes that hotrod a little more cool.
I had a friend way back in the day that had a Dodge Duster with a slant six...even though it was a six-banger, it still ran like a bat out of he**...!!!!!

My grandfather on my mothers' side had a 1929 Model A Ford that he restored to like-new condition (he bought it new, but, it deteriorated over the years on the farm - then, during the late 60's, early 70's, he spent about 5 years restoring it to like-new condition)
that looked a lot like this one, except it was a ragtop...it was sooo cool to ride around in...!!!

I don't think they needed a name to have people see this film. People would have most definitely gone anyway. I do wonder though who she was up against when they did cast the role. I thought the singing of the man who played the beast was fantastic. His was a more Broadway style voice.

He's done some stage work. He said he hadn't been called to sing in several years, but he got up to speed. His wife is also a professional singer.

Pretty much everyone else in the cast besides Emma Watson has had singing experience. A couple of them are Tony award winners. Which is why the casting of someone with no musical or singing experience in the main role baffled me. Especially since she didn't audition; they offered her the part. They had offered her Cinderella, but she turned it down.

The fact that pretty much everyone else had a great singing voice really did make her rather thin voice stand out even more. But I do agree with Songbird76 that they seemed to pick her because she really does seem to personify Belle... I can't picture her having been Cinderella at all though!

Oh she's done a ton of stuff....Harry Potter, Nanny McPhee, I think she did Sense and Sensibility....those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head that I've seen her in, but I know there are a lot more.

She was the GYN in Bridget Jones's Baby and it was absolutely hilarious.

She was also in Men in Black 3 and was Captain Amelia in Treasure Planet. Oh, and Merida's mother in Brave.

I'm wondering if perhaps they chose Emma not so much for the name, but for her personality...she kind of personifies Belle. All the work she's done for He For She and she's quite the Feminist...Belle is a character who is more interested in learning and in personality than she is in money or looks. She rejects the standard life that everyone else seems to chase after, choosing instead to make her own path. That's kind of what Emma has done...going to college and working on herself more than chasing after what society tells her she should want. Maybe they chose her because she is so much like a real life Belle..minus the beast.

That's what I think too, but I kind of wish they had dubbed her singing quite honestly (I have the soundtrack and have listened to it several times). Just not reasonable to expect her to sound like everyone else with a month of training.

I know how much Walt meant to y'all, but, speaking for myself, through your pics and stories, he also meant a lot to us here, too.
I'm pretty stone cold when it comes to a lot of things in life...stuff happens...we go on. It has to be that way, otherwise we'd all be curled up under our beds with our thumbs in our mouths whining for our mommies...definitely not good, or my style.

But, Belly Crazy Cakes and Ranger Danger are awesome pups, as well, and they are a continuous joy in our lives...!!!!!

Maybe this year I'll follow your lead and have a pup again.

My initial way of dealing with Walt was just not dealing. I did my weeping and 4 days later in true Gabe fashion got on a plane and went to Disney Gave us distance

I had the shrimp and bacon sausage with cheesy grits and BBQ sauce...!!!



Youngest DD and SonIL had the chicken fried chicken sausage with a buttered biscuit, mashed potatoes, gravy, and Dijon.



DWifey had a bratwurst dog, oldest DD had a samosa vegetarian sausage, and DS had an elk sausage that I somehow neglected to get a pic of ...and, it was delicious, too, as I had a bite...!!!

Oh wait that's the inside temperature It's 25 with a fresh coating of carp Tonight's dinner roast crown of groundhog with claret On a happier note the floral fabric I ordered to help cope with being snowed in should be here by the end of the week and I got an email saying the polka dot one I wanted should be back in stock in about a week I may need to get enough of that for 3 or 4 projects With luck I should be able to get out by 10 or 11 because the shut in thing is starting to wear just a bit thin Errands here I come

nope...all the documents like birth certificate and such are in Dutch, so first you have to get them translated professionally...you can't just translate them yourself. You have to get it done by an accredited service and then have them notarized and bla bla bla. And in the US, we'd need to have a US address, which we don't. So we have to do it over here, unfortunately. But, it's no biggie...for now they don't need it.

I'm just the opposite of you and the others, who want to be awake and "watch" the procedure on the monitors. No thanks!! I've always been under anesthesia for a colonoscopy, (even though they called it conscious sedation--but I don't remember ever being awake). Just have Dr. Larry knock me out, so I don't see anything!!

Best anesthesiologist EVER...!!!!!

I put roasted balsamic shredded brussels sprouts in mine, along with broccoli, carrots, onion, and celery.The aroma while it was cooking was soooo good, that even my food snob DD had to have a taste of the yummy "gravy" that bubbled up on top of the potatoes.

Oh my, I luvs me some meat, but, I also luvs me some veggies, and that sounds like veggie heaven...!!!!!!
