I think that there must be some appliance virus going around. Last Saturday, my oldest daughters stove died completely, with a house full of in-laws. Last night my youngest informed me that a small appliance I had bought her for Christmas apparently was DOA. Not two hours later she called me to say that her stove bought the farm and was completely dead. Now I realize that those are just appliances and are replaceable, but, also what seems like a never ending list of people that we know are dying at an alarming rate.
I guess we all have to admit that the older we get the more likely it will be that some of the people that we have seen or know about will be dying. Many of those, especially in the entertainment business spent way to much time playing in drugs. Wasn't it Robin Williams that stated that Cocaine was Gods way of telling you that you have too much money? I had a class member that I was talking too at this summers class reunion that was dead two weeks later. I have felt that I, although still upright and taking nourishment, have spent all of 2016 healing from something. Either my eye surgery, kidney stone, hip issues, foot issues, tooth issues, biopsies plus others that aren't even worth mentioning, but, I am truly hoping that 2017 brings better things, but, with the world the way it is seeming to be heading, I'm not real optimistic about that. Only hope that my fears are unfounded. So it's not unusual to be experiencing stuff like this as we get older, but, it doesn't make it any easier to deal with. I just looked at my appointment list over the last year for health issues and it shows 26 visits to the VA including one overnight stay and two surgeries. That is more visits then my previous 67 years combined.
