Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
Thanks. We are here now. We spent the night in Schaumburg last night. Breakfast was at Wild berry thanks for the recommendation it was good. I got the cinnamon roll French toast and corned beef for breakfast.

Love Wildberries So many things to choose from. Plus it is just a great atmosphere. Glad you enjoyed. What is your review of the hotel? Are you shopping the square miles of the area today?

Enjoy your extra day off, you deserve it. Two questions for you today:

When do you start your new job?

Are you planning a solo trip to wdw this year? Just wondering.

New one starts right after New Year's -- nothing like starting at an extremely busy time of the year. Oh well . . .

May or may not go to WDW this year--we may go visit hubs' parents out West in the late spring. That's still up in the air, but I may have to change up my usual travel plans in 2017.

Meaning next Monday? A whole week, lets have a pitty party with itty bitty violins playing. Seriously that stinks with it being the holidays and all. Good luck
I think that there must be some appliance virus going around. Last Saturday, my oldest daughters stove died completely, with a house full of in-laws. Last night my youngest informed me that a small appliance I had bought her for Christmas apparently was DOA. Not two hours later she called me to say that her stove bought the farm and was completely dead. Now I realize that those are just appliances and are replaceable, but, also what seems like a never ending list of people that we know are dying at an alarming rate.

I guess we all have to admit that the older we get the more likely it will be that some of the people that we have seen or know about will be dying. Many of those, especially in the entertainment business spent way to much time playing in drugs. Wasn't it Robin Williams that stated that Cocaine was Gods way of telling you that you have too much money? I had a class member that I was talking too at this summers class reunion that was dead two weeks later. I have felt that I, although still upright and taking nourishment, have spent all of 2016 healing from something. Either my eye surgery, kidney stone, hip issues, foot issues, tooth issues, biopsies plus others that aren't even worth mentioning, but, I am truly hoping that 2017 brings better things, but, with the world the way it is seeming to be heading, I'm not real optimistic about that. Only hope that my fears are unfounded. So it's not unusual to be experiencing stuff like this as we get older, but, it doesn't make it any easier to deal with. I just looked at my appointment list over the last year for health issues and it shows 26 visits to the VA including one overnight stay and two surgeries. That is more visits then my previous 67 years combined.

I don't think I'm going to tell him. We just told him that my aunt who lives down here is getting a divorce and she and her granddaughters moved out of their house. Poor guy has already had a hard time processing that. I figure I'll tell him the next time we watch Star Wars.
I'll be honest here... why tell him at all unless he asks. He isn't close to her, doesn't know her except in movies and she will always be alive in those. Someday, when he possibly may be able to deal with it he might find out, but, there is no reason to make him feel badly when the use he has for her is still there in celluloid form.

Maybe you decided that 2016 was your year of ketchup?! ;)

Seems to be a very common consensus. #damn2016
Been a horrible year. So many celebrity deaths, a lot of tragedies worldwide. Personally, my grandfather and my step grandfather passed away, my aunt is divorcing her husband after he became essentially unrecognizable due to alcohol, and my dad's brother has separated himself from the family for reasons no one can figure out.

I think I might restrict myself in California to checking the internet once a day just to get away from the nonsense.

Something different can be quite fun. I hope if you go out west you have enough time to explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations to boldly go where no man has gone before. Should only take about 5 years:)

I haven't told the boys yet they have today to binge watch whatever they are watching. They're quiet and getting along really well. No way I'm upsetting that! Tomorrow they're having company so no upsetting my "quiet" day

Sympathy like. I think checking the phone for messages from immediate family(including Disney) only might be a very good idea on vacation. You have earned your big trip before having to adult full time.
