I was very concerned about not leaving anyone with the impression that I was forcing an issue. I merely said that I wanted to do this if everyone can agree on a time to do so. We had many group meetings (dinners) together and discussed if there was anything in particular we wanted to do. We all stayed in the same 7 bedroom villa just offsite, had my car plus two rentals available if people wanted to do stuff on different schedules. Some opted to eat a meal at home (it had a full kitchen plus a propane grill in the Florida room with the pool and Jacuzzi) We sometimes went together to the same restaurant and sometimes we went three separate ways. We discussed onsite dining experiences and all settled on the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue and other then that no one had any specific desires that we would all fit into so we did our thing and met back up later. Maybe it was because of all the preparation it went well. We even knew it was necessary to make sure that everyone knew that they were expected to pitch in if meal prep was called for and subsequent clean up required. Shared general grocery expense with any special wants or requirements paid for by those with the demands. Although that all seems complicated the fact that we discussed all that before we even went made it all work smoothly. Or perhaps I am indeed a great patriarch.

Since that trip we have had another grandchild join our family and about every birthday (she will be 5 in December) they are asking if I'm going to repeat the trip so she can be part of it. I've told them all to keep their calendar clear for the second Tuesday of the fifth week in February. That's when it is going to happen again. However, I did mention that if they would like to include me as a member of a trip that they pay for before that time, I would graciously accept the invite.

Awe. That is very sweet.

The trip that did happened for my inlaw side of the of family to CO minus us (my MIL and FIL took our spot in said condo) did not go well. Knew it would not. We enjoyed Disney though as a individual family unit. It was the last command performance for MIL on demand vacations. Love the relationship you have with your daughters and your grandkids. Asking and input is always a plus. Kudos to you.

I wouldn't have have gone to Colorado either. Good for you to stick to your guns and go to Disney.

We always took 2 weeks in the fall to Disney. We loved it. We saved for it. We took our trip despite being called on th carpet for not obeying the directive. That trip for everyone else was a nightmare. The two sisters married to two brother were at odds. One had a newborn and demanded quiet in the condo. Even MIL wasn't amused. Glad we bailed.

Thank you. We went for a late lunch after mass to a nice local diner with a great salad bar and they also are great for people with allergies. Seeing there were a few of us the chef came out and made sure nobody wound up sick. At least I had a happy Disney memory and sorry no food pics

Rough week for all concerned. Awful.

I'm still dealing with all the passing of my Dad with estate type things given my Mom is elderly. In 10 days we are meeting with an attorney to sort out planning and stuff when my sister comes to town. It does drag on.

Shopping went okay. I got a couple pairs of pants near the end of my shopping but it was just so tiring trying on pants. Some were too loose (yay), then too tight (sadness), then too long, then too short. I finally found 2 pairs at JC Penny and another pair at Gordmans (don't know if you have it but it is a discount place). The last pair actually fit the best but I almost didn't try them on, it was the price that made me do it as they were under $20. I did find a few Christmas stocking stuffers but there were a lot of stores I wanted to go to but didn't have the energy too.

I was able to meet up with a friend for lunch. I hadn't seen her for a couple months, so that was nice. After lunch though I wanted to go to Target but I just didn't have it in me to fight the weekend crowds. I talked to another friend when I got home and she wants to go shopping in a couple weeks so I will look at Target then. And since I found some pants this week it can just be fun shopping for Christmas and maybe a little for myself.

I really envy guys when it comes to shopping for slacks. Waist, length. Relaxed or not.

Womens clothing is all over the board and no standards in manufacturing. My DD that runs from a
Zero to a two spent an hour trying on jeans at Express, even there the variables were frustrating.
Then in store they only carried tall. She is not. Crazy.

Isn't that funny about animals with FUR on them??!! You'd think they'd be plenty warm in the winter. But our last dog used to plunk herself on TOP of the floor heater (it's an older house, and the heat comes from a grate in each room, at the floor level). She looked so content, and often went to sleep there. If I needed the room, I'd kick her out, as I needed some heat, too, on the coldest winter days! :p

My last three pups plunked themselves down on the A/C vents. To heck with the humans.

They know a lot more than we give them credit for. On Tuesday and Saturday mornings, hubs cooks bacon. He said that Jack knows when it's Bacon Tuesday, and Bacon Saturday. He said that on the other mornings, Jack eventually wanders in the kitchen when he has a cereal, or toast for breakfast. But on Bacon Tuesday or Saturday mornings, Jack follows him into the kitchen and sits in front of the stove . . . waiting . . . drooling . . . for his slice of bacon! :hilarious:

I want to borrow Jack. I will buy him bacon.

I hear ya! I even tried on one pair of pants at JC Penny and it was too tight, I then tried on the same style in a different color and they fit just fine.
I think I may have mentioned this before but my neighbor wears Dianne Gillman jeans and swears by them. They always look nice on her and seem to last forever, come in petite, regular and tall and most styles in several colors. She orders them on line, you just type in your waist and hip measurement and pick a length. Now if they could only make them in my size:mad: Laugh if you will but the ones that seem to fit me the best are Faded Glory at Walmart and for shorts it's Cherokee at Target:hilarious:

After several pages of y'all posting about this, I finally decided to google...
This is the first I can ever remembering hearing of this brand, and, holy carp, the prices...!!!!!
One pot for what I can buy a really nice big-screen TV for. WTH...?!?!?! :jawdrop:
It's an investment piece for those who do a lot of cooking and will pass it down to future generations.
