That's cool. My brother and his husband used a surrogate, who is AWESOME and is like a sister to me now. (one who lives VERY far away) My niece is now 3 and my kids just got to meet their cousin this summer when we came to the US on vacation. Soooo much fun. They hit it right off.

That is so great he was able to use his English so well. I think I remember you saying that your kiddos were a little worried about their ability. I am okay with languages but I am really jealous of people who are completely fluent in multiple languages. I think they are super smart!



What!?! Why are you telling people about this spot!:mad: Just kidding;):), I'm not mad, but it is nice that people don't know or remember these bathrooms. Just like the one off to the side of Journey to Imagination, they play the old music loop in there too.

I don't ever remember a teacher who DIDN'T take attendance every single time. Ever. But then, I never skipped class, so it didn't matter.

Yeah, my son in particular was nervous about English. For the first few days he didn't really say much and asked us to order for him in restaurants and such. But I got it pretty quickly and then he talked EVERYONE's ear off. Especially in Disney...oh my gosh, the boy was a motormouth. We'd get on a bus and he would talk to whomever was next to us. His favorite topic was Pokemon Go. Our phones aren't compatible with the app, but they played it at my cousin's house and for the rest of the trip, it was Pokemon this and Pokemon that, and if someone had their phones out playing, he was going to talk to them about who they had already caught, who they still needed, where the closest gym was, etc.
So...do people just not know some of these bathrooms exist? Or is it that they are spending all their time at attractions that are not near those bathrooms? I was so surprised to find nearly deserted ones where there wasn't a line. I also found favorite drinking fountains because most of the drinking fountains were not cold water and these were.

Awwww....that's so sad! I remember a horse stepping on my foot when I was about 4. But I had enough experiences with horses by that time that it didn't scare me off of them. Other than that, I never had any really bad experiences with the animals. My brother took the brunt because my dad was determined to make him a big strong ranch man, and he put him situations that were probably not appropriate. Like...he had this horse that he bought, knowing it was not a very friendly horse. He was ok for my dad to ride, but even my mom didn't particularly like this horse. My dad wanted to break him of the bad habits, so he put my brother on him, and he bucked him right off into a barbed wire fence. And this was AFTER my brother had been bucked off his horse when it spooked and he landed flat on his back...knocked the wind out of him and it took him a few hours before he was back to breathing normally, so he was already a little skittish around horses. (not the same day. Just my brother was a bit afraid after that, but dad insisted he HAD to get back on a horse, and he picked a horse that hated kids and didn't really like people in general) And when he was 3, he sat in an ant pile and had bites ALL over that made him sick. No wonder my brother had no desire to take over the ranch...

Yep...I've never seen them in the U.S. and I'm pretty sure there's no separate license there for them like there is here. But here, you have to be 16 to drive those, and in the US you have to be 16 to drive a car. Where I'm from, a scooter wouldn't be practical because the distances are huge and it's freezing 9 months of the year. The scooters wouldn't be particularly safe on the icy roads and you'd FREEZE trying to get anywhere on one, so maybe that's why they aren't a "thing" where I come from. Over here, everything is compact, gas prices are ghastly, and you pay road taxes based on the weight of your vehicle...it's much more practical to drive a scooter.

When I was at houston a few days ago, my uncle had to fill the gas tank before leaving.
And the more close to the airport we were.. the more expensive the gas was.
He lived pretty in the south of Houston and it was 1.98 per gallon. right by the Airport it was 2.35.. crazy!

I filled up my gas tank on Saturday for 1.89. I have to fill up today so we will see what it is.

We miss you, too, Figgy! Interesting that the boys liked Uni better--I've heard similar comments from people with boys in that age group. Could Disney be slipping away for these kids?

I know your a teacher but some (actually most) schools have gotten really crazy the past decade or so. I'm not talking about attendance because once in school, you should stay in school. But schools acting like they're parents, school state testing which is really stupid. Of course parents don't help either.

My girlfriend and I also have talked about being artificially inseminated, but she has no desire going through being pregnant or labor but I wouldn't mind that experience at all. So we shall she in the next few years where things take us.
