Who knew it would be so hard to find an iron!

Challenge accepted. I just went to Google and typed in iron. There were 60,300,000 results. Can't be too difficult to find an iron. ;)

If you just need a very basic iron, check out Target, Walmart, Kohls, Bed Bath and Beyond, Amazon.com, Best Buy, Williams Sonoma, and Macy's. Plenty of other stores sell them too, and they come in all price ranges. :) For under $50, you can get a decent, basic model.

I'm not a big decorator either, but put out "small touches" in a few spots, as you do. Our place is small, so less is more. For years now, I've had a really pretty Lenox Nativity set, that I always display on a side table in the livingroom. It's elegant and subtle.
that sounds so special, most of my special Christmas items go on the tree. I have the my 1st -5th Hallmark ornaments for each of my boys. they don't really remember getting them but they do enjoy hanging them up every year. I also have a Mr. and Mrs. Snowman my dh got me on out first trip out to Lancaster from a little craft shop.

Flying monkeys are the best part, don't you agree, @BuddyThomas ?!! :p

(Edit: Oh Buddy, I just saw your post beyond catmon's, and I guess we're supposed to call them Flying Warriors now! Who'd ever think we needed to be pc with the monkey crowd??!! :D )
I think perhaps you misunderstand why they are called Flying Warriors in The Wiz and it's not due to "the monkey crowd". But like Buddy, that's all I'm going to say about that.

I hope you have the most amazing meal, and time with hubby ever! xoxo

Oh it was so very good!

We had a pound of crawfish with jalapeño cornbread to start. Then I had the seared tuna served with artichokes, rice and grape leaves. He had the guinea fowl with potato pancake. For dessert, I had a lemon shortbread with blueberry purée and he had the pot de creme. Washed it all down with a nice Malbec and then some of the best coffee with the dessert.

Had lots of time to talk to the server and the chef, who are the co-owners. I guess they change their menu 10 times a year not every 10 days. We will be back when it changes again! There was so much else I would have tried like the gator gumbo.

The bad part was it stormed while we were eating. We were watching from our window view by the fireplace! We couldn't get the car up the hill to get back to our neighbourhood. Had to go back downtown and park at a friends for the night and wait for a cab. The cab got us home but just made it up the hill.

Believe it or not, I actually have Christmas china! I built up a set of Lenox in the classic, "Holiday" design with the holly and ivy. The rims of the pieces are 24 carat gold. Can't tell you how many years I collected a piece here and there, and received some as gifts. Only use the china once a year, but that makes it even more special to me. :inlove:
This is the Lenox design I have. Set of four is just enough for us. :)

Wow! Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends.

It's been a good 2000+ pages since my last visit. High school band director at a highly competitive marching band school = not a free minute from August until November. Been catching up with the family who I forgot I had for the past few weeks and finally am back to wdwmagic. Read the last few pages and am very glad to see that the more things might change, the more this crew stays the same. Good to see you all.

Nice to see you too! Not sure we met as I am a relative newbie to the thread but be sure to stick around and play with us!

It was a very tumultuous year. There are some real issues and concerns going on with the head director (remember I'm just the assistant at the new school), but the kids pulled though and did a great job. We have such great kids! But, I'm quite glad to be out of marching band season and more in control of my own universe... 7 gigs for my jazz band in the next two months. That's where my passion is and I have a great group of kids willing to go with me!

More importantly...3 weeks until our next Disney visit. Another Xmas-New Year's week. Should be fun!

What is your main instrument?

in my case, its not arhritis.
Radiation left a big patch of my skin on my leg with very thin skin and muscle, and tiny veins. which means blood doesnt flow as good as the rest of the body. hence why I can get colder there FAST.

I am very sorry to hear about that. I don't have the same story but I can relate to the blood flow and small vein issues. I find it almost impossible to warm up through the winter months (even in the summer evenings). I know I should be warm when the heat is blaring, I'm wearing sweaters, and under blankets. I know it's not cold but still my body will not warm up.
