Wonderful photo's. We had a display in Kansas City museum of art, and it included the Mona Lisa. I, too was so surprised at the small size.

I have mentioned this here before, but, the size of the Mona Lisa I kinda' knew from early art classes. Although, I thought it might be a little larger.
The one that caught me by surprise was The Last Supper. For some reason, I always thought it was about 2'x4' on canvas, instead of the about 15'x30' wall mural that it really is. :cyclops:

Some people at my friend's office thought feeding the geese daily would be fun. o_O Now they chase people to their cars expecting food.

Yep, when we first moved into our home, there was a small 35 acre ranch the we abutted in our dead end (now a developed neighborhood).
They had horses, cattle, and goats.
When our kiddos were little, we used to let them feed the goats. Wilted vegetables, etc.. At first, the goats were timid and wouldn't even approach the fence. You can probably guess the progression beyond that over time, to the point of getting aggressive with each other and head-butting the fence. We quit feeding the goats.
The kiddos did learn a valuable life lesson though. ;)

Same story with a squirrel when I was little. I fed him peanuts. Started out nice and all and ended badly when one time he followed me when I was done feeding him onto the back porch and into the house without me noticing. That was the end of me feeding the squirrel.

What is called Mexican Hot Chocolate up here is actually a good drink

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 3 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 vanilla bean, split
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 teaspoon chile powder
I've seen the chile sub'd for cayenne pepper too.

Me, I am a bigger fan for Ghirardelli's Hot Drinking Chocolate. (also available online)
I have NEVER heard of spicy hot chocolate in my whole life.. go figure..

interestingly. almost all the recipes I found on google, are from spain websites.
Makes me wonder if this concoction was just mixing spanish chocolate with salsa picante (theres some that use tabasco sauce, and that thing isnt exactly Mexican)
