It's farm market Saturday so I'll be out super early. I'm hoping to be down to one last gift and a gift card left by the time I get home, at least I hope so. Lots of cooking in my plans for the weekend as I'm going to don the surgical gear and start baking for Thanksgiving. LOL For those that don't know I have gluten issues but as long as I wrap up before baking I'm fine. I'll try and stay ketchedup this weekend but it probably won't happen so be safe and enjoy

Hubby wasn't a pilot, but flew all over the place, including Australia. I stayed home and cared for our young daughter. I so admire that you put family as a priority. Hubby put family as a priority, by doing his job well, and providing well. He had a poor family, and sometimes went without meals. I appreciate that you both thought of family first, just in different ways!:joyfull:

No wonder you married Mr. Bets. He sounds like a wonderful man. He's a keeper, I'd say!!!

We had lighter rain on and off all day. The winds are still nasty, it was supposed to end hours ago. Wrong.

Are the cousins Illinoisans too?
Yep...Batavia, Carpentersville, there used to be some in McHenry, but I think they moved in with my elderly aunt to take care of her in Dundee. I think all the Elgin cousins have passed away now, but that whole area is full of my mom's family.

Good Friday morning to you all. Does anyone have any big weekend plans? I'm going to finish up Santa's shopping this afternoon when I'm done at the office. Then we are all going to go to a craft show this evening. Looking forward to it. Tomorrow should be a more relaxed day. One of the kids has a birthday party to attend but that's about it. Might go to the Farmer's Market in the morning and then just hang out.

TGIF!
I got called in to work last night, which was a bit of a juggle with transportation since my bike died, but I managed. And now I have a nice shiny 2nd-hand bike, which will have anti-leak tires by the end of the day and I can pick it up. Yay me. Tomorrow we have a birthday party for my friend's sons. She does the party together because one was born at the end of October and the other was born in the first half of December ON her birthday. So party in November, kill 2 birds with one stone. Those are our weekend plans. OH!! And Sinterklaas arrived in the Netherlands today, so the season begins. I need to go buy shoe gifts.

It's report card day and I'm trying not to blow a gasket! My little guy came home with a B not a B+ but a regular old B. I'm trying to calm down. I'm really trying not to go full on Beverly Goldberg right now. LOL
What's wrong with a B? My mom got mad at me once because I brought home an A-. I don't understand what was wrong with that to this day. I remember in 7th grade, I got a B+ in Science and I was crying and my friends didn't understand why, because they thought it was a great grade, but they didn't have to take it home to my mother, who was expecting straight A's.

Yep, I just found his post with his travel plans and he returns Nov 15. Thank goodness he was in Paris at the beginning of his trip! It looks like his last stop is Spain, but not sure if that's where he's flying out of.
I was just thinking of that when I read the about the Paris attacks. I was thinking "Oh, thank God he was already out of Paris by that time!"
