Thank you for your explanation. I find our experiences in life can help us to cope or not. I'm not the strongest person when it comes to coping, I try to avoid situations, that will cause me stress. Especially at this time in my life, getting older comes with it's own stresses and fears. I may see it, but will fast forward when it comes to things I might find too difficult. I guess, I'm a person that has to go slowly.

I don't think you will find much you have to fast forward. I would love to hear what you think.

I'm not a religious person, but I'd say amen to that! Although I'd prefer tequila to whiskey. :p

Oh Darl'in there are all sorts of these advent calendars. I love each one has its own little shot glass with a twist off cork. Can say I've never had a shot of tequila though. Hard liquor straight isn't really my thing however I can tolerate a good whiskey, scotch. Brandy if I have a horrid cold.

Here is your tequila

It's great to have a fantastic relationship with our daughter's. Mine is so special, as I'm sure yours is.

Yep, gotta love her. So much fun when your kids become adults and the relationships just blossum to a different kind of relationship, it is nice feeling. I'm enjoying watching her venture off into her own life and career and yet still having this great relationship with her. My son is different as I expect guys to be. I always had his back and he now has mine. We are very close just in a very different type of way. I've kidded my DD was born an adult it was interesting to watch the ManChild mature from a kid to a young man. He is so well spoken and diplomatic. Not a mean bone in his body. I can't every him ever saying anything hurtful to me now or while growing up. I pleased with how they both turned out.

Bonus is they both enjoy each others company, respect each others opinions and seek them out. They had little in common growing up, boy and a girl and 5 years apart all that goes with that. Kinda cool they bonded more as young adults.

OMG...I love Cracker Barrell! We don't have those here so we are so excited when we come across them in the States.

Glad you had a good road trip. How fun!

I was late to the party with Cracker Barrels. I don't know how they missed my life. But we have sure been making up for it. While we had the braised pot roast which was amazing I think the waitress was surprised we each ordered an additional side of the hashbrown casserole since the dinner had mashed potatoes with it. We were so freak'n stuffed. Then there was the midnight order of Insomnia cookies delivered to our hotel room too. Oink.

We stayed again at the same hotel with the crisp all white sheeted linen and amazing beds. The hotel has only been open a few months and is very contemporary with a kitchen (we didn't use) chairs with foot stools and a table for 4 which we used to pile all our stuff on.( I have this fear of bed bugs no matter where I'm staying and this is an international hotel.) This time we had a view of Green Street which was fun, much like Bourbon Street in NOLA. DD was sharp enough to request a higher floor though so we could watch but not have to hear. Good times. My road trips with my son are actually air space trips and always include WDW. I am so not a roadtrip gal. I fly everywhere so this is a new to me and new to DD. Road trips never happened when they were young. My DS along with me stood up to my sisters wedding in Cleveland when he was just about 2 years old, tux and all. That was a road trip. It never happened again.

My friend in Florida has the same thing...she said it's nearly impossible to find a decent home there that does NOT belong to an HOA. And she had major problems with theirs...like, they are not allowed to have their trash can visible from the street, and she doesn't, but one time she was cleaning out her garage, which is where she keeps the trash can, so she had it out just for a couple of hours and someone happened to see it and they fined her. And then they aren't allowed to have raised flower beds and she had put something in to drain rainfall because her house has a slope in the front, so water pooled there, and they made her take it all out and just put in the grass which doesn't grow in Florida, so it has bare patches and brown patches everywhere and looks terrible, but they won't let her put in prettier things that will actually grow. It was insane. And they didn't follow procedure...like, they are supposed to give you 3 written warnings before turning it over to the lawyers for non-compliance, but she got only one letter, and then got the letter from the lawyers that she had to pay so much for every day that she didn't comply. But then she got a 2nd notice that was dated the day AFTER the letter from the lawyers. So she wasn't even supposed to have been in non-compliance yet and she ended up having to pay hundreds of dollars for their lawyers for sending the letter that she wasn't even supposed to get. I'm pretty sure it's illegal, but she'd have to go to court to call them on it, and that would cost even more than just paying the dang fines in the first place. I'm convinced HOAs are evil.

We have one group of townhomes here that doesn't have a HOA. It is horrible. It is the oldest group of townhomes prior to the popularity of HOAs. They all replace roofs at different times, they don't match even when they directly connect, Doors don't match nor the screen doors.
Everyones ideas of what looks nice on the front lawn is widely different. Some have shutters some don't. Some replaced windows others didn't.

I have my own home on my own property and there isn't an association but there is the town magistrates that create all sorts of weird ordinances. We are restricted when boats, campers, moterhomes, jet ski's and snowmobiles can be on our property by windows of time no matter how much property you have. We can't have any garbage cans out front (which is fine by me) except on garbage pick up day so everyone tends to only mow on the afternoon before garbage day. There is little one can do without purchasing a permit. We had a roof put on and needed a $500 permit to cover the towns building inspector, which would be less galling if the inspector actually came out and looked at the work. We can only have 3 pets no matter what type combined and all must be licensed by the town. Still the things that would matter to me like shoveling of snow, or leaving Christmas lights up year round they overlook. Crazy little Hamlet, our home town.

I actually have a hoodie sweatshirt that says "This town is like one big outpatient mental institution."

I wear it frequently to our town meetings.
