Every year, I buy candy to hand out and every year, we aren't home. We both like to take the kids trick or treating. I feel a little guilty about that but I figure when they are older, we will take our turn of sitting at home and handing out the candy. If I could just remember not to buy the treats...lol Oh well, I guess I will just have to eat them. It's a tough job...

My classmates are probably wondering why I am snickering...(don't worry, class hasn't begun yet)

Just for good measure, @figmentfan423

I dunno. I can see where everyone is coming from (as with everything else, V-day has been highly commercialized) but I like any excuse to celebrate! Yes, we love each other every day and try hard to show it but it's nice to have nights set aside for just the two of us, especially with three small children. And Valentine's Day is a great excuse to spend that time together. I don't have any real expectations for what it has to be but we typically do go out for a meal and buy each other a card. And I do feel special.

I typically also buy the kids a very inexpensive little gift...usually from the dollar store...and they get a kick out of it. But probably because we don't buy them things other than for special occasions.

And they give out little cards to their classmates, which they find really fun. But they always give one to everyone and seem to get one from everyone.

Yep, that's the way I remember it back in elementary school. Everyone always brought a Valentines Day card for every student in the class. :)

My dh and I have been talking about going the week between Christmas and New Years(2016 into 17) mostly to check out the decorations and resort hop. Are we crazy or do you think we'll have a good time?
I heard from a few friends that MK is not that full, only th 25th is insanely full, then the crowds sort of die, then pick up again as they get near the news years.
then it drops dead.
